The premier agricultural, livestock, and agri-food fair of Sicily in Ragusa
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The FAM - Mediterranean Agri-Food Fair is one of the longest-running and most deeply rooted industry events in Sicily. Organized by the Interprovincial Breeders' Consortium, it transforms the town of Ragusa into the island's capital of agriculture and livestock every year in late September, attracting breeders, farmers, companies, and thousands of visitors from across the Iblean region and the rest of Sicily.
Founded in the 1970s, the FAM celebrated its fiftieth edition in 2025, cementing its status as a benchmark for the agri-food sector in Southern Italy. The fair bridges the traditional world of farming and livestock with innovation, keeping a constant focus on new technologies, sustainability, and the promotion of local supply chains.
Spanning an exhibition area of over 23,000 square meters, the event offers a packed calendar of activities spread over several days:
The heart of the fair is the Ragusano DOP cheese, the pride of Iblean dairy tradition: the event hosts a competition awarding the best wheels produced by local dairies. It is no coincidence that Ragusa was awarded the title of City of Cheese by ONAF, a recognition that highlights the province's dairy vocation.
The FAM is held at the Via Malfitano exhibition area in Ragusa, and admission is free. Beyond its role as an economic and commercial showcase for the agricultural sector, the event has become a popular family gathering, blending professional networking with a festive atmosphere, complete with stalls, street food, and entertainment for all ages in the heart of the Ragusa province, Sicily.
The dates for the 2026 edition of the FAM - Mediterranean Agri-Food Fair in Ragusa have not yet been announced. Historically, the fair takes place on the last weekend of September at the Via Malfitano exhibition area, with free admission. As in previous years, livestock shows, agricultural machinery stands, spaces for Sicilian agri-food excellence, tastings, conferences, and equestrian shows are expected. Visitors are invited to consult the official channels of the Interprovincial Breeders' Consortium for final dates and program details.
The fair takes place at the exhibition area on Via Prof. Vincenzo Malfitano in Ragusa (Zip Code 97100). By car, it is accessible via the SS115; the nearest airports are Comiso (approx. 15 km) and Catania Fontanarossa (approx. 100 km). The Ragusa train station is connected to the city center.
In recent editions, a shuttle bus service has been provided from the Palaminardi parking lot to the main entrance of the fair (approximate rates: 1 euro each way, 2 euros round trip).
Admission to the fair is free. Opening hours are typically from 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM, with extended evening hours on the main day. We recommend checking updated dates and times on the official channels of the Interprovincial Breeders' Consortium before visiting.
