The great celebration of alogastronomy in the First City of Beer in Italy
Every first weekend of October, the small village of Apecchio, perched on the Apennines in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, becomes the stage for one of the most original food and wine events in the Marche region. Apecchio Tartufo & Birra is not just a simple sagra (food festival): it is the National Festival of Alogastronomy, the discipline that studies and celebrates the pairing of craft beer with the great products of the territory, starting with the prized white truffle (Tuber magnatum Pico) from the woods of Monte Nerone.
The secret to the charm of this event lies in the osterie (taverns): small establishments set up in the old houses and cellars of the historic center that, for the days of the festival, are brought back to life and transformed into characteristic little restaurants. Here you can taste truffle-based dishes expertly paired with local craft beers, while live music fills the streets of the town. Apecchio is indeed recognized as the First City of Beer in Italy, home to breweries like Amarcord and Tenute Collesi.
The Apecchio Truffle Market Exhibition dates back to the early eighties and has grown to become an event of regional and national importance. Over the years, the festival has combined the market exhibition with a rich calendar of events: shows, cultural meetings, guided tours of the medieval village, food treks in the hills, falconry displays, and concerts.
For those who love truffles, good food, and the authentic atmosphere of the Marche villages, Apecchio Tartufo & Birra is an unmissable autumn stop in the Marche region.
The great alogastronomy festival of Apecchio returns in 2026 for its 44th edition. From October 2nd to 4th, 2026, the Marche village in the province of Pesaro and Urbino will once again be filled with colors, flavors, and music, featuring characteristic taverns in the old cellars of the historic center, stalls of fresh truffle producers and craft beers, and the gastronomic excellences of the region.
The official dates have been confirmed by the organizers, who have set June 15th, 2026, as the deadline for those wishing to set up their cellar or tavern during the festival days. The detailed program, including times, guests, shows, and awards, will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event.
The detailed program for the 44th edition will be published by the organizers in the weeks preceding the event. Based on past editions, the event typically spans three days with:
