The great exhibition of author comics in the heart of Città di Castello
Tiferno Comics is the National Comics Exhibition that transforms the historic centre of Città di Castello, in the province of Perugia, into a reference point for fans of speech bubbles, illustration, and graphic novels. Organised by the Tiferno Comics Association, the event has its historic headquarters in the halls of Palazzo Facchinetti, along Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
The heart of the event is a collective exhibition that brings together over 300 original boards by Italian and international artists. Each edition is dedicated to a major guest author and revolves around a thematic thread, often linked to social and current issues: from graphic journalism to comic biographies, from investigations to civil engagement.
Alongside the main exhibition, Tiferno Comics offers a weekend full of events for the public: a market exhibition, an area dedicated to games, an artist alley with live artists, a self-publishing space, and meetings with authors. An event that intertwines the language of comics with the artistic and architectural heritage of the Umbrian city.
The exhibition enhances Città di Castello and the Alta Valle del Tevere, creating a dialogue between sequential art and the Renaissance views and palaces of the town. Over the years, the exhibition has hosted leading figures in the Italian comics scene, establishing itself as one of the most anticipated cultural events of the Umbrian autumn.
The 24th edition of Tiferno Comics enlivens Città di Castello from September 19 to November 1, 2026, once again in the halls of Palazzo Facchinetti. The guest of honour is Silvia Ziche, a cartoonist known for her humorous and self-deprecating style, who debuted in 1987 in Linus and created the character Lucrezia. The exhibition is curated by Rita Petruccioli. In anticipation of the edition, Ziche visited Città di Castello to draw inspiration from the views of the historic centre for the official poster.
Collective exhibition dedicated to Silvia Ziche, guest of honour of the 24th edition, with original boards and themed illustrations. Curated by Rita Petruccioli.
