Ancient Aretine Flavors Festival in Indicatore

A celebration of Aretine rural tradition

The Ancient Aretine Flavors Festival is one of the most beloved gastronomic events of the spring in the Arezzo area. It takes place in Indicatore, a village in the municipality of Arezzo located in the Valdichiana plain, drawing locals and food lovers from the Province of Arezzo and across Tuscany every year in search of the authentic flavors of rural cooking.

The heart of the festival is the Indicatore sports field, which transforms into a large open-air restaurant for several consecutive evenings between late May and early June, managed with passion by local volunteers. The event is organized by the CAS (Social Aggregation Center) together with the Polisportiva Indicatore, two organizations that have always kept the village's social spirit alive.

Aretine cuisine dishes

The menu is an authentic journey through the gastronomic tradition of the Arezzo area, where every dish tells the story of old-fashioned cooking. Among the most popular specialties:

• Tagliatelle with duck sauce (duck is the queen of the Aretine table)
• Fried rabbit, crispy and fragrant
• Grilled steak
• Roasted duck
• and many other traditional rural specialties

The restaurant and pizzeria are open every evening from 7:30 PM. The dining area is covered, so the festival continues even in case of bad weather.

Music, dancing, and fun for everyone

After dinner, the party continues with live music: every evening features ballroom dancing with the best orchestras, in the true spirit of Tuscan village festivals. For families, there is a dedicated kids' area with inflatable games, making the evening enjoyable for the little ones as well.

Admission to the festival is free: you only pay for what you consume at the food stand. It is the perfect opportunity to experience the genuine hospitality of an Aretine village, enjoying dishes prepared according to old-fashioned recipes in a typically convivial and cheerful atmosphere.
