American Motor Weekend is the event that transforms Vacri, a small town in the province of Chieti overlooking the Foro Valley, into a corner of America on the road. For an entire summer weekend, the Abruzzese town celebrates the golden age of American culture: gleaming engines, rock and roll music, rockabilly dancing, and star-spangled flavors blend with local hospitality and regional excellence.

Motors, exhibitions, and two-wheelers

The heart of the event is the exhibition of American vehicles: muscle cars, choppers, hot rods, and custom bikes parade and remain on display throughout the event, offering enthusiasts and curious visitors the chance to admire chrome, powerful engines, and unique setups curated by collectors and clubs from various regions.

Music and vintage atmosphere

The soundtrack is provided by live rock concerts and DJ sets featuring original American vinyl records from the golden age, taking you back in time with rock and roll and rockabilly. There is also a rockabilly dance school, open to those who want to try their hand at typical 1950s dance steps for an authentically retro atmosphere.

American street food and Abruzzese flavors

On the gastronomic front, American Motor Weekend offers the ultimate American street food — burgers, hot dogs, and ribs — alongside local specialties such as the essential Abruzzese arrosticini and draft beer, in a meeting between overseas culture and local tradition.

A growing event

The event, supported by the Municipality of Vacri as a tool for promoting cultural identity and experiential tourism, has grown year by year, moving to a larger and better-equipped location with marquees and a free camping area, just minutes from the Francavilla al Mare / Pescara Sud motorway exit. An appointment now eagerly awaited by motor and vintage enthusiasts from all over Abruzzo and beyond.
