In the heart of Abruzzo, in the province of Chieti, the small village of Castel Frentano turns into a true enchanted Christmas wonderland every December. The Santa Claus Village brings the charming historic center to life with twinkling lights, decorations, and the scents of traditional sweets and dishes, offering visitors a fairytale atmosphere that draws families from across the Frentano region and the nearby area of Lanciano.

Two days of magic for all ages

The event takes place over a weekend, starting in the late afternoon when the village streets light up and the shows begin. Throughout the historic center, you will find Christmas markets with wooden huts filled with gift ideas, local crafts, and sweets, while food and wine trails offer traditional products, Christmas treats, and classic Abruzzese dishes.

• Santa's House, where children can deliver their letters and enjoy themed entertainment;
• Shows for children featuring Santa Claus and his helpers;
• Live music and roaming performances through the village streets;
• The Zampognaro (bagpiper), playing ancient melodies and evoking the pastoral traditions of the past;
• Street artists and roving performers animating the squares and alleys.

A village event

The Santa Claus Village is organized by the Ripensiamo il Centro Storico association in collaboration with the Municipal Administration of Castel Frentano, with the support of local associations that manage entertainment and activities for children. Admission is free. Now in its many editions, the event has become one of the most anticipated Christmas gatherings in the Frentano district, successfully showcasing the village's historic center and its traditions during the holiday season.

The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: the event is traditionally held in December, on the weekend preceding the holidays.
