The Christmas program in the town of stone carvers, featuring nativity scenes, markets, and concerts

Christmas in Lettomanoppello is the festive program that, every year between December and Epiphany, transforms this village in the province of Pescara into a small Christmas village. Nestled on a rocky spur at the foot of the Majella mountains, the town has been known for centuries as the "town of stone carvers" and the "Little Carrara" of Abruzzo, thanks to its ancient tradition of working with white Majella stone. It is no surprise, then, that one of the most anticipated events in the program is the live creation of ice sculptures by local stone carvers, who bring their mastery from stone to ice.
The Christmas season begins around the Immaculate Conception with the lighting of the tree in Piazza Umberto I, accompanied by the San Nicola di Bari Polyphonic Choir, and the opening of the Nativity Scene Exhibition and Santa's House, true landmarks for families. In the historic center, a stone nativity scene also comes to life, paying homage to the community's artisan identity.
The calendar alternates between popular traditions and major musical events: in recent editions, the square has hosted well-known names from the Italian music scene and themed evenings, culminating in the New Year's Eve party in the square. Alongside the entertainment, there are charity initiatives, events for children, local association choirs, and cultural appointments that animate the village throughout the month.
The event is organized by the Municipality of Lettomanoppello together with the Pro Loco and local associations. Immersed in the Majella National Park area, in Abruzzo, the village offers a perfect opportunity during these weeks to discover the historic center, its portals, and its fountains made of Majella stone, in a festive atmosphere that combines tradition, gastronomy, and entertainment.
The 2026 edition of Christmas in Lettomanoppello has not yet been officially announced with specific dates and a program. Based on recent editions, the Christmas period in the village typically extends from the days around the Immaculate Conception until Epiphany, with the Nativity Scene Exhibition, Santa's House, the market with street performers, events in Piazza Umberto I, and traditional community gatherings. The final calendar will be released by the Municipality of Lettomanoppello and the Pro Loco on their official channels.
Lettomanoppello is located in the province of Pescara, at the foot of the Majella. By car, it can be reached via the A25 motorway (Scafa-Alanno exit), continuing towards the town; from Pescara, take the Val Pescara road. The nearest train station is Scafa-San Valentino on the Rome-Pescara line, followed by a bus connection.
The full program, including dates and times for individual events, is released every year by the Municipality of Lettomanoppello and the Pro Loco on their social and official channels. Most events take place in Piazza Umberto I and the historic center, are held outdoors, and offer free admission.
