The patronal feast of the village of Sclemo in honor of Saints Peter and Paul

A Sclemo… San Pero e Paolo is the patronal feast of the village of Sclemo, a small hamlet in the municipality of Stenico, located in the Giudicarie Esteriori region of the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). The event, organized by Pro Loco Stenico, takes place at the end of June to mark the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, traditionally celebrated by the Christian calendar on June 29th. It is one of those local village festivals that define the Trentino summer, where religious devotion intertwines with conviviality and the pleasure of community gathering.
The village of Sclemo, home to just over a hundred residents, guards one of the hidden treasures of the Giudicarie: the church of Saints Peter and Paul. The building we see today dates back to the late 15th century, although an ancient capital suggests the site's origins go back as far as the 13th century. The presbytery preserves frescoes attributed to Cristoforo II Baschenis, a member of the famous dynasty of itinerant painters, which were rediscovered beneath layers of whitewash during the 20th century. The church's bell tower has stood over the village for more than five centuries and remains one of Sclemo's most recognizable landmarks.
The feast of San Pero e Paolo—as it is known in the local dialect—is a moment when the small community of Sclemo rallies around its patron saints. Around the church and throughout the village, Pro Loco Stenico brings the day to life with the atmosphere typical of Trentino village festivals: religious celebration, communal gatherings, traditional mountain flavors, and the warmth of a festival that belongs to all the village residents.
Sclemo is located in an area of great scenic and cultural value, nestled between the Brenta Dolomites and the Valli dei Parchi territory, a short distance from the Terme di Comano and the main town of Stenico, famous for its castle. The patronal feast offers the perfect opportunity to visit an authentic village, far from the main tourist flows, and to savor the community life that still thrives in the small hamlets of Trentino.
The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially announced. The festival traditionally follows the feast of Saints Peter and Paul on June 29th: for the updated program, we recommend following the Pro Loco Stenico channels.
