The annual gathering of the 'Black Feathers' from the Monregalese area, hosted in 2026 by Farigliano
The A.N.A. Sectional Gathering of Mondovì is the main annual event for the Monregalese Section of the National Alpine Association, bringing together dozens of Alpine Groups from local municipalities. In 2026, the organization is entrusted to the Farigliano Alpine Group, which will welcome the 'Black Feathers' on June 13th and 14th, combining the rally with the 3rd Grouping Festival. The municipality of Farigliano, in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of the Piedmontese Langhe, will transform for two days into a meeting point for veterans, young volunteers, authorities, and citizens.
The gathering is much more than a festival: it is a moment of profound civic value and remembrance. Among the most heartfelt events of the 2026 edition is the planting of twenty linden trees at Parco dei Trenta, dedicated to the Cuneense Alpine Division and units engaged in peacekeeping missions—a "living monument" that links the past and the present. On Sunday, a stele dedicated to those who fell in peacekeeping missions will be inaugurated in memory of Chief Marshal Luca Polsinelli, who died in Afghanistan in 2006.
The event alternates between solemn ceremonies and moments of conviviality:
For the second consecutive year, the museum of the A.N.A. Mondovì Section becomes a traveling photography exhibition, set up in the spaces of the "Nicola e Beppe Milano" Civic Library. The exhibition recounts the history of the Monregalese 'Black Feathers' and accompanies the two days of the rally, offering visitors and enthusiasts a journey through memory, vintage images, and local testimonies.
Every year, the Sectional Gathering is hosted by a different municipality in the Monregalese area: after Villanova Mondovì in 2025, Farigliano takes the baton in 2026. It is an opportunity to discover a Langhe village in festive attire, amidst Alpine spirit, local cuisine, and the hospitality of the local community in one of the most evocative areas of the Piedmont Region.
The 2026 edition of the A.N.A. Sectional Gathering of Mondovì is held in Farigliano on June 13th and 14th, organized by the Mondovì Section together with the Farigliano Alpine Group and combined with the 3rd Grouping Festival.
Saturday, June 13th, the program kicks off at 3:00 PM at Parco dei Trenta with the planting of twenty linden trees dedicated to the Cuneense Alpine Division and units in peacekeeping missions; at 5:00 PM, a meeting at the Civic Library with General Marcello Bellacicco and presentation of the book "Noi ci abbiamo creduto"; at 8:45 PM, concert by the Sectional Fanfare and the A.N.A. Choir.
Sunday, June 14th: Assembly from 8:30 AM, flag-raising at 9:30 AM, and parade at 9:45 AM with the "Giovanni di Farigliano" Musical Band and wreath-laying at the War Memorial; at 11:00 AM, Holy Mass and at 11:45 AM, inauguration of the stele in memory of Chief Marshal Luca Polsinelli; in the afternoon, concluding flag-lowering.
Farigliano is located in the Langhe, in the province of Cuneo. By car: from the A6 Turin-Savona motorway, take the Carrù-Mondovì exit, then follow provincial roads towards Farigliano. By train: Farigliano station on the Bra-Ceva line, or nearby Dogliani station.
The 2026 edition takes place on Saturday, June 13th and Sunday, June 14th, with events at Parco dei Trenta, in the historic center, and at the "Nicola e Beppe Milano" Civic Library.
The parade and ceremonies are free to attend. During the rally days, extraordinary traffic changes are expected in the center of Farigliano: it is recommended to arrive early and follow the signs for parking.
