The great open-air wine tasting of Romagna wines in Piazza Garibaldi, Cervia
In the heart of Cervia's historic center, in the province of Ravenna, 100% Made in Romagna – Un mare di vino transforms the charming Piazza Garibaldi into a large open-air wine bar. The event, scheduled for May 1st, brings together over thirty wineries from Romagna in collaboration with AIS Emilia-Romagna, the Italian Sommelier Association: an opportunity to taste the best local labels and be guided in discovering Sangiovese, Albana, Trebbiano, and the grape varieties that tell the story of these hills and this coast.
The idea behind the event is simple and powerful: every glass tells the story of a territory, a vintage, and its people. Therefore, the event is not just a tasting, but a journey into Romagna's flavors and traditions, where wine becomes a universal language capable of uniting producers, sommeliers, and enthusiasts.
Un mare di vino is the oenological heart of a broader weekend: together with the Caplèt sotto la Torre event, dedicated to the famous Romagna cappelletto pasta, it creates a widespread gastronomic experience that enlivens Cervia's center for three days. The two events intertwine in a single narrative that blends the pleasure of dining with the discovery of the territory, establishing Romagna as the capital of taste.
The May 1st celebration is not just about wine glasses: cooking classes, chef show cooking, DJ sets, and live concerts transform the Torre area into an open and dynamic space, capable of welcoming diverse audiences and creating authentic connections between food and wine culture and conviviality.
Cervia, the city of salt on the Romagna Riviera, offers the ideal setting for this celebration of taste. Piazza Garibaldi, with the Town Hall and the Cathedral facing each other, is the historic living room of the new city founded in 1697: strolling among the winery stalls, glass in hand, means experiencing the town in its most convivial dimension, just a stone's throw from the canal port and the salt pans.
The 2026 edition of Un mare di vino confirmed Piazza Garibaldi as the great open-air wine bar for May 1st in Cervia, featuring over thirty Romagna wineries and the support of AIS Emilia-Romagna for guided tastings.
Alongside the wine tasting, the day offered a program of cooking and entertainment that transformed the Torre area into a dynamic and convivial space, in dialogue with the Caplèt sotto la Torre event dedicated to the Romagna cappelletto.

The event was part of the widespread gastronomic experience from May 1st-3rd, alongside the Caplèt sotto la Torre event.
