The youth music festival in the village of Montesilvano Colle
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Youth On Hill Festival (abbreviated as Y.O.H. or YOH Music Festival) is a free music event held in the charming historic village of Montesilvano Colle, the ancient part of the town of Montesilvano in the Abruzzo region. Perched about 160 meters above sea level and known by locals as «la Rocchetta», the village preserves an almost intact medieval layout, featuring stone alleys, carved portals, and panoramic views that stretch from the Adriatic coast to the silhouette of the Maiella mountains.
The festival is promoted by a group of local organizations—including APS Jungle Groove, APS Azione Collettiva, Caritas Pescara-Penne, and the Xera Group collective—with the support of the Municipality of Montesilvano. The concept is that of a community built by and for young people: a free and inclusive program that weaves together music, social interaction, and sustainability, empowering the new generation and highlighting the village as a cultural hub.
The heart of YOH is live music, with a special focus on hip hop, rap, and the new Italian music scene. The festival hosts nationally renowned headliners alongside numerous emerging artists and local acts across multiple stages set up in the village squares and viewpoints. Performances are interspersed with freestyle sessions, DJ sets, and moments of connection in an informal and participatory atmosphere.
Beyond the concerts, Youth On Hill offers artistic workshops, installations, street art projects, and awareness-raising activities. A distinctive feature of the festival is its focus on solidarity and the environment: in collaboration with YoungCaritas and other local entities, the organizers coordinate volunteer initiatives, donations to social organizations, and village cleanup efforts to leave the Colle even more beautiful and livable than they found it.
The setting of Montesilvano Colle makes the festival a unique experience in the Abruzzo summer event scene: young music meets a medieval village overlooking the sea, just a few kilometers from the Montesilvano seafront and the city of Pescara. It has become a staple of the local summer calendar, blending entertainment, culture, and a deep connection to the territory.
The Youth On Hill Festival returns in 2026 to Montesilvano Colle: the event is officially included in the 2026 Montesilvano Summer calendar, presented by the Municipality, as one of the «must-see» events dedicated to music and youth, alongside others like the Diorama Festival. The program is scheduled for September, marking the end of the city's summer season.
The exact dates and the line-up for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced. The festival reaffirms its identity as a free, inclusive, and sustainable event, built by local youth associations in the historic village of the Colle.
The festival takes place in the historic village of Montesilvano Colle, in the upper part of the Municipality of Montesilvano (PE), with stages set up across the village squares and viewpoints.
