The pop culture festival in Abruzzo

Pescara Comix & Games is the go-to event in Abruzzo for fans of comics, video games, and pop culture. Established in 2013, the event has grown over the years into one of the main trade fairs in central-southern Italy dedicated to the nerd, geek, and cosplay scene. Following its initial editions in Pescara, the festival found its home at the Pala Dean Martin (Abruzzo Congress Centre) in Montesilvano, on Via Aldo Moro—a venue spanning over 7,000 square metres, allowing it to host a large audience and an ever-expanding range of activities.

What to expect

Each edition features over one hundred events per day and more than 150 themed exhibitors spread across various zones. The festival is organised by the Municipality of Montesilvano and is part of the city's major summer events on the Adriatic coast, in the province of Pescara.

• Artist Alley: meet-and-greets with professional comic artists, designers, and illustrators.
• Gaming Area: latest-generation video game stations and a retrogaming zone, featuring the travelling Play on Tour festival.
• Cosplay: parades and judged competitions, including selections for national cosplay circuits.
• Asia Nerd: a pavilion dedicated to the Eastern world, with K-pop shows, dance competitions, and anime and manga culture.
• Live Music: concerts, emerging bands, and an Open Stage for independent artists.
• Wrestling: shows and demonstrations with professional circuit athletes.

An event for the whole family

Pescara Comix & Games caters to a wide audience: young people, families, children, and adults will all find activities suited to their interests in the programme. Alongside the exhibition areas, there are food stands and food courts, social spaces, and a packed calendar of events that keep the energy high all day long. Held every September, the event helps make Montesilvano one of the most vibrant pop culture destinations in Abruzzo.
