Farmers' market, street food, and live music on the shores of Lake Bolsena
The Yellow Night in Bolsena is the summer event where Coldiretti Viterbo and the Campagna Amica Foundation bring the agricultural world into the historic center of Bolsena, in the province of Viterbo, Lazio. For one evening, Piazza Dante Alighieri and the charming promenade overlooking Lake Bolsena transform into a large farmers' village, where residents, tourists, and families can meet producers directly and discover the authentic flavors of the Tuscia region.
The heart of the event is the Campagna Amica market, where local farms showcase and sell their short-supply-chain products. Stalls are filled with preserves, garlic, pasta, flour, extra virgin olive oil, Tuscia hazelnuts, spreads, wine from the Viterbo hills, mozzarella, artichokes, jams, and seasonal fruits and vegetables. It is a unique opportunity to rediscover seasonality, traceability, and the value of the Mediterranean diet, as told by the farmers themselves.
Alongside the market, the Yellow Night offers agricultural street food prepared with local ingredients and traditional country cuisine by Campagna Amica's 'agrichefs'. There are also live cooking demonstrations, where local products are turned into dishes to be enjoyed on the spot, from Chianina beef meatballs to vegan options. It is a gastronomic stroll along the lakefront, filled with aromas, tastings, and conviviality.
The evening is accompanied by live music, which enlivens the streets and squares until late. With the waters of Lake Bolsena and the medieval village as a backdrop, the Yellow Night combines good food, entertainment, and landscape appreciation in one of the most beautiful locations in Upper Tuscia.
Promoted by Coldiretti with the patronage of the Municipality of Bolsena, the Yellow Night is part of a series of initiatives bringing Italian agriculture into public squares, strengthening the bond between producers and consumers. For Bolsena, a town overlooking the volcanic lake of the same name, it is also an opportunity to showcase food and wine tourism and the excellence of Lazio in the height of summer.
On Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 7:00 PM to midnight, Bolsena hosted the Yellow Night by Coldiretti Viterbo and Campagna Amica. Piazza Dante Alighieri and the lakeside promenade transformed into a large agricultural village, featuring the Campagna Amica market, country cuisine, agricultural street food, live cooking demonstrations, and live music. Mayor Andrea Di Sorte also attended the evening.
As highlighted by Maria Beatrice Ranucci, president of Coldiretti Viterbo, the high turnout demonstrated the strength of the bond between citizens, tourists, and the agricultural world; for director Andrea Marconi, bringing farms into public squares means creating a direct relationship with citizens and valuing the producers' hard work.
