Every third Sunday of the month, from March through September, the monumental Orsini Castle in Soriano nel Cimino, in the Province of Viterbo, opens its doors to a lively craft market. The event, promoted by the Municipality of Soriano nel Cimino together with the Pro Loco and local associations, changes its name depending on the specific date—"Artisans of the Castle," "The Castle Court," "Spring Festival"—but always retains the same spirit: to showcase artistic craftsmanship, creative talent, and the local traditions of the heart of Tuscia.
What to find among the stalls
The exhibition route winds through the courtyards and walkways of the castle, offering a wide range of goods:
- Artistic crafts and handmade creations, unique objects that tell stories of ancient skills and expert hands;
- Antiques, crystals, and small collectibles;
- Typical products and food and wine specialties of the territory, including the characteristic sutrine sorianesi;
- Tastings of local products and wines from the Tuscia region.

Each edition is enriched by a dense side program that makes the day suitable for families, curious visitors, and enthusiasts. There is no shortage of art exhibitions, musical events, stargazing of the starry sky on summer evenings, as well as workshops and creative labs designed for both adults and children. Free guided walks in the medieval village and itinerant theatrical performances complete the offer, turning the market into a true community celebration.
Spring by day, summer by night
The format follows the rhythm of the seasons. In the spring months, the events take place during the day, with continuous hours from morning to late afternoon; from June to September, however, the market dresses up for the evening, with night openings that allow visitors to enjoy the cool air and the panorama of the Cimino mountains after sunset.

Each Sunday changes its nuance but maintains the artisanal and convivial heart of the event.

2026 Calendar (every third Sunday)
- March 22 — "Spring Festival / Artisans of the Castle", 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM. Craft market, creative paper flower workshop by Arianna Menichelli, music and entertainment, street food by the Le Maschere Danzanti Association, and a free guided walk in the village with the Soriano Terzo Millennio Association.
- April 19 — "The Castle Court", market 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM. Vintage vehicle rally by the Veteran Car Club Viterbo (gathering in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II at 11:00 AM, then ascent to the castle), animated readings by the Municipal Library (3:30 PM – 4:30 PM), food area 10:30 AM – 5:30 PM with sutrine sorianesi.
- May 17 — "At the Castle Court", 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Artistic and creative market with handmade works, workshop by the Laboratorio dei Sogni, local products, and the free itinerant theatrical show "The Call of the Castle" by the Teatro Florida Association (12:00 PM).
- June 21, July 19, August 16, September 20 — Summer evening editions (approximately 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM), featuring art exhibitions, tastings of local products and wines, stargazing, musical events, and creative workshops.

How to get there
Soriano nel Cimino is located in the Province of Viterbo, on the slopes of the Cimino Mountains. By car: from the A1 motorway, take the Orte exit, then the SS204 and provincial roads towards Soriano; from Viterbo, it is about 30 minutes. The Orsini Castle dominates the historic center and can be reached on foot from the main squares of the town.
Opening hours
Every third Sunday of the month from March to September. Spring editions are held during the day (approximately 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM); summer editions (June–September) are held in the evening (approximately 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM).
