Wine & Beats: Summer begins at Lake Caldaro
Wine & Beats is the new evolution of the traditional spring wine festival in Caldaro sulla strada del vino/Kaltern an der Weinstraße, in the heart of the South Tyrolean wine region. Organized by the wein.kaltern initiative, the event marks the official start of the summer season, drawing wine enthusiasts and music lovers to the shores of Lake Caldaro, the warmest swimming lake in the Alps.
Wine and music by the lake
The evening takes place at the Lido on Lake Caldaro, in the San Giuseppe al Lago district, offering an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Local producers present a selection of the region's finest labels: sparkling, rosé, white, and red wines, including the iconic Lago di Caldaro (Kalterersee), the native red that gives its name to the lake and the entire valley. Everything is paired with DJ music and a chill-out zone overlooking the water, perfect for enjoying a glass at sunset.
A toast to summer
Wine & Beats is more than just a tasting; it is a social gathering to toast the upcoming summer season and a great vintage. The event carries on the legacy of the historic Caldaro Wine Party, which for years animated the winecenter and the town center, now shifting the focus to the fusion of the great wines from the Cantina di Caldaro with the contemporary rhythms of a DJ set.
Caldaro, capital of South Tyrolean wine
The Municipality of Caldaro sulla strada del vino, in the Province of Bolzano (Trentino-South Tyrol), is one of Italy's most celebrated wine destinations. Nestled between vineyards and the lake of the same name, the town is the hub of the South Tyrolean Wine Road and hosts numerous events dedicated to oenology throughout the year. Wine & Beats is the event that kicks off this calendar, combining wine culture with a youthful, holiday vibe.

Wine & Beats 2026
On Friday, May 29, 2026, from 7:00 PM, the Lido on Lake Caldaro hosted the first edition of Wine & Beats, the early-summer wine festival promoted by the wein.kaltern initiative. On the shores of the warmest swimming lake in the Alps, visitors were able to taste a selection of sparkling, rosé, white, and red wines from the Caldaro area, including the typical Lago di Caldaro (Kalterersee).
The evening, with its informal and relaxed atmosphere, combined South Tyrolean wine culture with DJ set beats and a chill-out zone overlooking the water, officially kicking off the summer season in Caldaro sulla strada del vino, in the Province of Bolzano.

How to get there
Caldaro sulla strada del vino can be reached by car from the Egna/Ora motorway exit (A22 Brenner Motorway), about 15 minutes away. The Lido is located in the San Giuseppe al Lago district, on the shores of Lake Caldaro. In summer, bus connections are available from the town center to the lake.

Tips
