Welcome Summer: Welcoming the season to Lake Caldonazzo

Welcome Summer is the traditional fireworks display that illuminates the waters of Lake Caldonazzo in the heart of Valsugana every year as summer begins. Organized by the A.P.T. Valsugana Lagorai, the event takes place in the evening on the Spiaggia Riviera in the town of Caldonazzo, Trentino-Alto Adige, symbolically marking the opening of the lake's tourist season.

A light show on the water

As darkness falls, the sky above the lake fills with light, color, and sparks. Master pyrotechnicians create a dazzling array of shapes—flowers, circles, hearts, and geometric patterns—that mirror perfectly on the calm surface of the water. This visually stunning show is designed to awaken the childhood sense of wonder we feel when watching a tiny light climb into the sky before exploding into a thousand colors.

Lake Caldonazzo and Valsugana

Lake Caldonazzo is the largest body of water entirely within the Trentino region and one of the warmest alpine lakes, suitable for swimming from May to September. Its shores, featuring both grassy and pebbled beaches, provide the ideal setting for an outdoor summer event. The Spiaggia Riviera, in particular, offers a wide view of the lake, making it the perfect vantage point for the fireworks. The surrounding Valsugana valley offers water sports, cycling paths, thermal spas, and the mountains of the Lagorai range.
