A widespread Christmas celebration across the hamlets of Terragnolo and the Nativity Scene Walk in Zoreri

In the municipality of Terragnolo, nestled among the woods of the Vallagarina in the province of Trento, Christmas is not confined to a single square but spreads from hamlet to hamlet. "Christmas in the Leno Valleys" is a calendar of events that, from early December until Epiphany, brings life to the small villages of Piazza, Zoreri, Potrich, Geroli, Stedileri, Porte, and other hamlets scattered across the valley slopes. It is a Christmas defined by community, volunteer work, and ancient traditions—far from mass tourism and all the more authentic for it.
The heart of the event is the Nativity Scene Walk, organized by the Pro Loco of Zoreri. Along a route that winds through the village and its districts, you can discover over 60 nativity scenes, lovingly crafted by the residents and placed in the most characteristic corners of houses, mountain huts, and fountains. The evening walk, illuminated by festive lights, is punctuated by tasting stops featuring hot drinks and local products, as well as storytelling and entertainment that make the experience warm and convivial. You can pick up a map illustrating the various routes at the Pro Loco headquarters.
A long sequence of events curated by local associations revolves around the walk. The Christmas market, set up in the former school of Zoreri by the Women of Terragnolo, offers crafts and sweets for charity. There is no shortage of festivities, including the St. Barbara Feast of the Volunteer Firefighters, workshops to build the nativity scene for the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, children's readings in anticipation of St. Lucy's Day, choir concerts, animated film screenings, bingo, the arrival of Santa Claus in Zoreri, and the Befana on Epiphany. Each hamlet stages its own small event, ensuring the magic of Christmas embraces the entire community.
Terragnolo is one of the "Villages of Nativity Scenes" that make up the Natali della Vallagarina, the major Christmas program coordinated by the APT Rovereto and Vallagarina that unites the cities, villages, and valleys of the region. Along with the nativity scenes in other municipalities, those in Terragnolo help make the Vallagarina one of the most evocative destinations in Trentino during the Advent and holiday season.
The dates for the 2026 edition of Christmas in the Leno Valleys in Terragnolo have not yet been announced. As a recurring event part of the Natali della Vallagarina program, it is reasonable to expect the usual return of Christmas festivities during the Advent period, including the Nativity Scene Walk in Zoreri, the charity market by the Women of Terragnolo, and various initiatives across the hamlets. The program will be published by the Municipality of Terragnolo and the APT Rovereto and Vallagarina in the weeks leading up to the holidays.
