Running around the Corno Bianco

The Weißhorn Skytrail is a trail running race that brings mountain running enthusiasts to Aldino/Aldein, a small mountain village in the south of South Tyrol (Province of Bolzano), every September. Two courses of varying difficulty wind around the Corno Bianco (Weißhorn), the iconic panoramic peak that gives the event its name, crossing alpine trails, forest roads, and breathtaking viewpoints. The start and finish are set at the Aldino sports center, which for one day becomes a true celebration of mountain sports for both participants and spectators.

Two courses for every level

The event offers two tracks designed for different skill levels:

• Weißhorn Skytrail (27 km): the flagship course, with approximately 1,480 meters of positive elevation gain, technical climbs and descents, and the highlight of the traverse across the Corno Bianco summit. This is a challenge reserved for the most experienced trail runners.
• Bletterbach Experience (16 km): a more accessible track with about 800 meters of elevation gain, which leads from Aldino to Redagno before returning through the evocative Bletterbach Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Suitable even for those new to trail running.

An event born in the Dolomites

Organized by ASV Aldein Raiffeisen (Amateursportverein Aldein) with timekeeping by Sport Dolomiti, the Weißhorn Skytrail is a young event that has already gained a strong following in the South Tyrolean Sky Race calendar. The first edition took place in 2025 and immediately captivated runners thanks to its unique natural setting, which combines the high altitudes of the Corno Bianco with the depths of the Bletterbach Gorge.

Sport and territory

More than just a race, the Weißhorn Skytrail is a way to discover one of the most authentic corners of South Tyrol (Südtirol). The Aldino area, located in the South Tyrol's South tourist destination, blends traditional mountain farming, forests, and pastures with an exceptional geological heritage. The event aims to promote outdoor sports alongside sustainable tourism, showcasing the trails and landscapes of the local municipality.
