Ancient crafts, flavors, and traditions of the Terragnolo Valley
Waiting for the Teragnóle — Crafts of a Valley is a day dedicated to ancient trades and the farming culture of the Terragnolo Valley, in the heart of the Autonomous Province of Trento, in Trentino-Alto Adige. The event takes place in Pinterreno, one of the oldest hamlets in the Municipality of Terragnolo: a place that is usually quiet and rich in history, which for one day comes alive with scenes of daily life, forgotten scents, and simple gestures.
The event is the first of three appointments of "Waiting for the Teragnóle", a series of reflections and meetings designed to guide the community toward the new edition of the Teragnóle Walk, an event that pays tribute to the women of the valley — the "Teragnóle" — who in past centuries traveled an ancient road to descend to Rovereto to sell the products of their land.
During the day, the valley turns into a large open-air workshop, where the knowledge of the past is shared through live demonstrations, practical and creative workshops, tastings, stories, exhibitions, and meetings. Visitors can observe, try, ask questions, and be guided by those who still preserve these crafts today.
Ample space is dedicated to taste and the typical products of the valley: culinary workshops focused on buckwheat with the preparation of fanzelto, roasting and tasting of barley coffee, meetings on wild herbs and fruits, as well as local cheeses and honey for tasting and purchase. There is no shortage of games for children, folklore, watercolor workshops, and moments dedicated to the Cimbrian language and culture with traditional songs.
Organized by Rebut Terragnolo APS together with Visit Rovereto and dozens of local associations, the event is much more than a simple festival: it is a cultural project that weaves together memory, community, and landscape to keep the traditions of Terragnolo and the Vallagarina alive.
The day begins at 10:00 AM and continues until 6:00 PM, bringing the hamlet of Pinterreno to life with live demonstrations and workshops open to everyone.
Admission is 10 euros per person; the event is guaranteed even in case of bad weather. This is the first of three "Waiting for the Teragnóle" events, followed by September 20 in Rovereto and October 11 in Ghesteri di Terragnolo.
