The wine village in the historic center of Montopoli in Val d'Arno
Vinopoli is a food and wine event dedicated to the world of wine, painting the historic center of Montopoli in Val d'Arnoโa town in the province of Pisa perched on a hill in the lower Valdarno region of Tuscanyโin shades of red. For one evening, the medieval village transforms into a widespread tasting trail through alleys, small squares, and plazas, where local wineries and vineyards present their labels to enthusiasts and curious visitors alike.
The itinerary winds along the most characteristic streets of the historic center: starting from via San Giovanni, where you can pick up your tasting glass and handy glass-holder pouch, the route continues toward piazza della Pieve, via Santo Stefano, piazza Michele da Montopoli, and via Guicciardini. Along the way, you will find stands from wineries and producers, featuring excellent local wines and sensory experiences designed to showcase Tuscan oenological culture.
Good food is the perfect companion to a glass of wine: charcuterie and cheese boards, rice cakes, risottos, and the signature Vinopoli Sandwichโmade with grilled sausage deglazed in white wineโwhich has become the festival's culinary symbol. This selection highlights local products and makes Vinopoli a fantastic opportunity to discover the flavors of the Valdarno region.
The culinary experience is intertwined with musical entertainment spread across the squares: from DJ sets on via San Giovanni to live performances in the various village squares, and a street band that brings the streets to life with its roving music starting in the evening. The result is a festive atmosphere that involves the entire town from late afternoon until night.
The festival combines fun with a concrete commitment to safety through the Drive your life initiative, featuring a booth dedicated to free, anonymous breathalyzer tests to promote responsible consumption before getting behind the wheel.
Vinopoli is organized by Confcommercio Pisa and the Montopoli Natural Shopping Center, with the support of the Regional Council of Tuscany and the Tuscany North-West Chamber of Commerce. It was created as an initiative to promote the village, local commerce, and the wine excellence of this part of Tuscany.
