The Vigolana Endurance – The Race is one of the most anticipated equestrian endurance competitions in Trentino. Organized by the Horses' Nunatak A.S.D. association in collaboration with the F.I.S.E. Trentino Provincial Committee and under the patronage of the Municipality of Altopiano della Vigolana, the event transforms the plateau for three days into a grand stage dedicated to the bond between horse, rider, and mountain.

The headquarters is the Vigolana Horses' Nunatak Equestrian Center, located at an altitude of approximately 1,050 meters on the Vigolana Plateau, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). From here, the routes wind along forest roads and country paths, immersed in a landscape of spruce and beech forests dominated by the rocky walls of the Vigolana.

A discipline of endurance and horse care

Endurance is the long-distance equestrian discipline: it is not just about speed, but above all the ability to manage the horse's effort along loops that can exceed twenty kilometers. Veterinary checks mark every phase of the race and reward the pairs capable of reaching the finish line with the animal in perfect condition. It is a sport that combines athletic preparation, knowledge of the territory, and deep respect for the horse.

The Vigolana Plateau, which belongs to the Trentino Eastern Horse Trail, offers ideal terrain for this discipline: cool altitudes even in mid-summer, varied tracks, and panoramas that range from forests to Dolomite peaks.

National and international competitions

Vigolana Endurance – The Race brings together multiple circuits and championships in a single weekend. The program includes the F.I.S.E. and MASAF Young Horse Italian Cup, the ANICA HORSE Breeding Circuit, the Trentino Championship, and a leg of the Triveneto Endurance Trophy. Alongside national categories reserved for beginners and young horses, international CEI competitions are also held, attracting pairs from various regions.

A sport that enhances the territory

Beyond the competitive dimension, the event is an opportunity to promote the Vigolana Plateau and the entire Alpe Cimbra area through sport and nature. Spectators can follow the starts, vet gates, and checks up close, discovering a discipline that is often little known but highly fascinating, in a mountain setting just a few kilometers from Trento.
