The nursery and gardening market exhibition in the historic center of Pisa
VerdePisa is the nursery and gardening market exhibition that colors the historic center of Pisa, Tuscany, every spring. For an entire weekend, the city's pedestrian axisโstretching from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II to Corso Italia, through the Logge di Banchi and the Ponte di Mezzo, up to Piazza Garibaldi, Borgo Stretto, and Via Oberdanโbecomes an open-air exhibition route populated by nurserymen, florists, and producers from all over Italy.
Visitors will encounter a wide variety of offerings: potted flowering plants and cut flowers, ornamental and fruit-bearing species, cacti and succulents, exotic outdoor specimens, as well as gardening products, tools, and accessories. The event is also an opportunity to discover the latest trends in home gardening and sustainable green spaces.
VerdePisa is more than just a market: at the Logge di Banchi, the hub for meetings and workshops, a series of conferences on urban greenery, biodiversity, and sustainability takes place, alongside book presentations, bonsai demonstrations, and kokedama and terrarium workshops. There are also guided botanical walks starting from the Botanical Garden of the University of Pisa, one of the oldest in the world, and exhibitions hosted in city museums such as the Museo della Grafica at Palazzo Lanfranchi.
The event is organized and promoted by the Municipality of Pisa and Pisamo with FZ Group, in collaboration with Confcommercio Pisa and Coldiretti Pisa. Admission is completely free along the entire exhibition route and for all events in the meeting and workshop area, making VerdePisa an accessible appointment for families, enthusiasts, and the curious alike. For the city in the Province of Pisa, it has become one of the most anticipated spring openings, blending a passion for plants, scientific outreach, and the vibrant life of the historic center.
VerdePisa 2026 enlivened the historic center of Pisa from April 17 to 19 with exhibitors from all over Italy and a refreshed format. The exhibition route wound through Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, Corso Italia, Piazza XX Settembre, the Logge di Banchi, the Ponte di Mezzo, Piazza Garibaldi, Largo Ciro Menotti, Borgo Stretto, and Via Oberdan. The Logge di Banchi hosted the heart of the meetings and workshops, while city museums offered exhibitions dedicated to the relationship between art and nature.
The historic center of Pisa is easily reachable on foot from the Pisa Centrale train station (about 15 minutes) or from the Pisa-Galileo Galilei Airport via the People Mover and public transport. By car, it is advisable to use the parking lots outside the ZTL (restricted traffic zone), as road closures and traffic restrictions are expected along the pedestrian axis during the event.
The market exhibition is open during the three days of the event, generally from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM (with afternoon opening on Friday). Admission is free along the entire route and for all meetings and workshops. The University Botanical Garden offers a reduced entry fee for visitors.
Wear comfortable shoes to walk the entire route between the squares and the riverbanks. Reservations are required for the guided botanical walks.
