The Vallagarina Sports Festival

The Vallagarina Sports Festival is a community event dedicated to sport, well-being, and social connection, which brings the Località Giardini of Villa Lagarina to life every September in the heart of the Vallagarina valley, in the autonomous province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige region). The initiative was born from the collaboration of the four municipalities of Isera, Nogaredo, Pomarolo, and Villa Lagarina, which have joined forces to showcase the local association network and promote physical activity for all age groups.

A day to try out sports

The heart of the festival is the opportunity to experience various sports disciplines firsthand, thanks to the participation of local associations. Children, teenagers, and adults can try their hand at both popular and lesser-known sports:

• Football, volleyball, track and field, and tamburello
• Karate and martial arts
• Calisthenics, historical fencing, and bocce
• Group dances and aerial silk dance
• Yoga sessions for little ones together with their parents

More than just sport: well-being and family

The event goes beyond simple sports practice: it offers moments for reflection and information with the presence of a sports psychologist, the Fire Department, and the Red Cross. A stand dedicated to the EuregioFamilyPass card is also set up, offering the chance to get information and print it for free. There are also guided walks in the area with volunteers and visits to the Filatoio di Piazzo, a historic building of the valley's textile tradition.

The Ok, Boomer project

The Sports Festival is coordinated by the Gruppo 78 Social Cooperative as part of the Ok, Boomer project, promoted by the municipalities of Isera, Nogaredo, Pomarolo, and Villa Lagarina to ensure gathering and social spaces for young people and families. The event is also part of the activities of the Vallagarina Family District, confirming its strongly inclusive and intergenerational vocation.

A local event

With its free and open-to-all format, the Sports Festival has become a regular fixture in the Vallagarina autumn calendar, capable of bringing families, associations, and institutions together in a single day. Pomarolo, like the other promoting municipalities, actively contributes to the organization of this widespread festival, an expression of the valley's territorial network.
