About Usigliano Festival

In the heart of the Pisan hills, the Usigliano Festival transforms the small village of Usigliano di Lari into a vibrant community gathering every July. Widely known as the Peach Festival, it celebrates the signature fruit of the local countryside and the entire gastronomic tradition of the Valdera region: grilled meats, fried delicacies, pasta dishes, and peach-based desserts. For two weekends, indoor food stands, market stalls, live music, and dancing bring the evenings to life in this hamlet of Casciana Terme Lari, in the province of Pisa.

The festival that tells the story of Usigliano

The Usigliano Festival, known to all as the Peach Festival, is one of the most cherished summer events in the Pisan hills. It takes place in Usigliano di Lari, a small hamlet in the municipality of Casciana Terme Lari, in the province of Pisa, nestled in the greenery of the Valdera area between Lari and Casciana Alta. For two weekends in July, the village fills with people, scents, and music, in what has always been the community's great celebration.

A farming tradition spanning decades

The festival's roots date back to 1971, when it was born spontaneously as an expression of a farming community and a celebration of the locals' love for their village. The event continued until 1983, only to disappear for over thirty years. In 2014, it was brought back to life thanks to the Le Fontoni Cultural Association, which inherited the legacy of the old festival and combined it with the freshness and ideas of many local youths. Since then, the festival has grown edition after edition, becoming a staple of the Valdera summer.

Peaches, the symbol of the local countryside

The absolute star is the peach, a fruit typical of the countryside around Usigliano. A market dedicated to peaches and local products revolves around this produce, while the kitchen serves traditional specialties: grilled meats, fried dishes, pasta, and desserts prepared with seasonal fruit. The festival is a genuine opportunity to discover Valdera's gastronomy in a convivial and familiar village atmosphere.

What to expect at the festival

  • Indoor food stands featuring traditional Pisan farming dishes
  • Market of peaches and local typical products
  • Live music, dancing, shows, and dance evenings
  • Children's entertainment, performances, and fun for all ages

Part of the rich summer calendar of the municipality of Casciana Terme Lari, the Usigliano Festival is much more than just a food event: it is a way to experience the identity of a rural Tuscan village, where farming tradition is still alive and celebrated together.
