Great live music in the heart of Valdera, spanning classical, jazz, singer-songwriter, and world music
The Pontedera Music Festival is one of the most beloved musical events in the Valdera region, located in the municipality of Pontedera, in the province of Pisa, Tuscany. Established in 2019 through the collaboration between the Accademia Musicale Pontedera and the Fondazione Piaggio, the festival has carved out a distinct identity: bringing great live music out of traditional concert halls and into iconic city landmarks, starting with the spaces of the renowned Museo Piaggio.
The artistic direction, led by Luigi Nannetti, curates a program each year that defies genre boundaries: it flows naturally from classical music and chamber music to jazz, singer-songwriter compositions, rock, world music, and even tango and contemporary music.
The 2026 summer season, the festival's eighth edition, runs from July 2nd to September 27th, 2026, with a packed schedule of evening performances. Concerts will enliven the Piazzale Corradino d'Ascanio in front of the Museo Piaggio, the Giardino di Villa Crastan in the city center, and local auditoriums, creating an open-air atmosphere perfect for summer evenings.
Highlights of the Summer Edition include the ZOE concert (featuring Zoe Ciulli on vocals and piano) on July 24th, the "Italmediterranea" acoustic set by 30 Corde on July 31st, the Vanhal Wind Quartet for the finale of the "Classica da Banco" series on August 27th, the "Strade e Suoni" tribute to the band Nomadi by the group Pensiero Nomade on August 28th, and, on September 4th, a monumental performance of the Eroica Symphony in a version for two pianos and eight hands, organized in collaboration with the Livorno Music Festival.
The festival stands out for the variety of its offerings and the quality of its performers, ranging from chamber ensembles and string quartets to singer-songwriters, jazz groups, and world music projects. Alongside big names, ample space is dedicated to young talents from the Accademia Musicale Pontedera and collaborations with other Tuscan musical organizations.
With its free-admission format and voluntary donation system, the Pontedera Music Festival represents a cultural opportunity accessible to everyone, attracting a broad and loyal audience. The setting of the Museo Piaggio, an icon of Italian industry and design, adds a unique charm to the evenings, blending industrial heritage with musical creativity in what has become an unmissable event of the Pontedera summer.
The 2026 Summer Edition of the Pontedera Music Festival, the eighth edition of the event, brings the summer in Pontedera to life with live concerts between the Piazzale Corradino d'Ascanio at the Museo Piaggio and the Giardino di Villa Crastan.
