The national fashion and beauty pageant that brings its grand finale to Atrani, blending runway, cinema, and entertainment.
Un Volto X Fotomodella – Fashion Award is one of Italy's longest-running national fashion and beauty pageants. It was founded in 1985 in Nocera Inferiore, in the province of Salerno, by Dino and Massimo Civale. The first event featured thirty-six girls on the runway, and since then, the pageant has toured the country annually with dozens of selection stages leading up to the national final. In recent seasons, the competition has forged a special bond with Atrani, the smallest municipality in Italy by area, tucked away in the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, in the province of Salerno, Campania.
In 2025, Atrani hosted a selection stage for the 41st edition on August 22 in Piazzetta Marinella, just steps from the beach. The winner of the evening earned direct entry to the national final, which was held on September 10, 2025, in the Renaissance Giardino Scotto in Pisa. In 2026, the event takes a major step forward. The municipal administration has announced that Atrani itself will host the national final of the 42nd edition on September 10, 11, and 12, featuring finalists selected from across Italy and hosted by Anna Falchi, joined on stage by the councilor for events, Giuseppe Pisacane.
The Fashion Award evenings are not just about fashion shows. The format alternates contestant appearances with live entertainment. In Atrani, in 2025, the event was hosted by actress Danny Menzez, with guests including maestro Mario Alfano, comedian Luca Virago, and students from the Centro Danza school directed by Patrizia Scarpati and Carmen Perrelli. Music, dance, and comedy accompany the jury until the final announcement: it is an outdoor event model designed for families and tourists flocking to the coast.
Those unfamiliar with Atrani might struggle to imagine it: just over eight hundred inhabitants, a maze of stairways and arches rising from the sea, and a square — Piazza Umberto I — that serves as the town's living room, with the beach just a stone's throw away. The village borders Amalfi and shares its history as an ancient Maritime Republic, yet it has retained a more intimate and domestic character. For a competition that thrives on image and photography, the backdrop is already set: the colorful facades, the majolica-tiled dome of San Salvatore de' Birecto, and the sea behind the stage.
The 2026 national final is part of the events season presented by the Municipality of Atrani, built around the themes of culture, beauty, and identity, and coordinated by councilor Giuseppe Pisacane. The year's calendar includes the book and publishing fair in late May, the Blue Fish Festival (Sagra del Pesce Azzurro) on August 22 and 23 — the village's most anticipated gastronomic event — and the September final, with historical re-enactments, music, and local traditions completing the picture.
The competition is organized by the Associazione Culturale Promo Nocera 88, a non-profit organization based in Nocera Inferiore that manages the stages, castings, and the national final. Media partners include META TV, Radio Planet Network HD, and CasaSanremo. In Atrani, the event is held with the direct support of the municipal administration, which includes it in the village's summer program.
The 42nd edition of the competition concludes its national journey on the Amalfi Coast: after months of selection stages across the peninsula, on September 10, 11, and 12, 2026, the finalists will gather in Atrani for the national final. This is an absolute novelty for the village, which in previous years had only hosted one of the many selection evenings while the final act took place elsewhere — in Pisa in 2024 and 2025.
The final evening, scheduled for Saturday, September 12, will be hosted by Anna Falchi, who will take the stage alongside the councilor for events, Giuseppe Pisacane. The municipal administration has announced the participation of several well-known faces from Italian television, culture, and entertainment, whose names will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event.
The final is part of the 2026 calendar of the Municipality of Atrani, which also hosts the Blue Fish Festival on August 22 and 23. This page will be updated as soon as the organizers release the full program with times, runway locations, and guests.
At the time of writing, the organizers and the Municipality of Atrani have not yet released the full program for the three days: times, precise locations for the runway shows, and the names of the guests are still missing, which the administration has announced will be made known soon.
By car — Atrani can be reached via the SS163 Amalfi Coast road, just after Amalfi when coming from Salerno. The road is narrow and scenic: traffic is heavy on summer weekends and event days. The historic center is pedestrian-only, and there are few paid parking spaces, mostly in structures in Amalfi. It is best to arrive well in advance or park elsewhere.
By bus — Scheduled bus lines along the Amalfi Coast connect Atrani with Amalfi, Salerno, and Sorrento. The stop is on the main road above the town, and you can reach the center via a short staircase.
By ferry — During the summer season, maritime connections from Salerno, Positano, and Sorrento arrive at the port of Amalfi, about a ten-minute walk from Atrani along the pedestrian tunnel of the main road. This is often the most convenient and scenic option.
By train and plane — The reference station is Salerno, also served by high-speed trains, from where you can continue by bus or ferry. The nearest airports are Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi in Pontecagnano and Naples-Capodichino.
The organizers have not released information regarding tickets or fees for the Atrani event. The competition stages hosted in the village squares have so far been held outdoors as part of the municipal summer program.
