A corner of Holland at the gates of Turin: 135,000 tulips to admire and pick in Pianezza
Every spring, the countryside in Pianezza, near Turin, bursts into color thanks to TuliAlpi, an immense tulip field that evokes the atmosphere of famous Dutch gardens. Across a vast expanse of neat rows, 135,000 bulbs of 135 different varieties bloom, all hand-planted last November by the historic Stella family—Piedmontese farmers who have turned this corner of the region into an unmissable destination for flower lovers and photography enthusiasts alike.
The formula that makes TuliAlpi so special is the you-pick park concept: here, you don't just look—you step right into the field. With a basket and trowel in hand, every visitor can stroll among the tulips, select their favorite flowers, and pick them to take home, with or without the bulb if they wish to replant them in their own garden. The slogan is simple and direct: "Tuliguardi, Tuliscegli, Tulicogli!" (Tulilook, Tulichoose, Tulipick!). Beyond classic tulips, you will find rare and spectacular varieties such as fringed, parrot, and double tulips, alongside violets and daffodils selected by Dutch hybridizers.
TuliAlpi is not just a sea of color for your photos. Throughout the season, the field hosts educational workshops, painting and photography courses, and live music events, while a picnic area and playground make it the perfect outing for families with children. It is an open-air experience that blends nature, creativity, and relaxation, just minutes from the center of Turin.
Originally established as Piedmont's first Tulips U-Pick Park and long known as Tuliparty, the field has moved over the years before settling in Pianezza. With the 2026 edition, the project adopted the new name TuliAlpi, cementing its status as one of the most anticipated spring events in the area. Its location at Via Collegno 60 in Pianezza makes it easily accessible from the entire Turin metropolitan area and the surrounding province.
The 2026 edition marked the debut of the new name TuliAlpi, following years where the field was known as Tuliparty and as Piedmont's first Tulips U-Pick Park. Open from March 21 to April 19, 2026, at Via Collegno 60 in Pianezza, it confirmed its winning formula: 135,000 bulbs of 135 varieties, ranging from classic tulips to fringed, parrot, and double varieties.
Every day, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, visitors were able to stroll through the rows, photograph the blooms, and pick their own tulips with or without bulbs. Alongside the picking, the program offered educational workshops, painting and photography courses, musical events, a picnic area, and a play space for children.
