Every Tuesday in summer, the historic center of Merano turns into an open-air stage
The Tuesday Evenings (in German Lange Dienstage) are one of the most beloved summer traditions in the capital of the Burgraviato district. Every Tuesday evening, from mid-July to late August, the historic center of Merano/Meran, in the Province of Bolzano (Trentino-Alto Adige), comes alive with music, lights, and joy: as the sun sets behind the peaks of the Tessa Group, this spa town with its ancient Habsburg traditions turns into a vibrant open-air stage.
The heart of the event is live music: five stages spread across the center—along Corso Libertà, Via Cassa di Risparmio, and the Lungo Passirio Promenade—host bands and artists from 8:30 PM until 11:00 PM. Genres range from rock to pop, jazz to soul, and intimate acoustic sets, ensuring there is something for every taste. Those who love to dance will find the city's largest open-air dance floor in Piazza della Rena: from 9:00 PM, dance schools offer choreography and impromptu lessons in salsa and bachata, open to everyone.
From 6:30 PM, the craft market opens along the upper part of Corso Libertà, in front of the information office, featuring handmade creations, unique items, and regional products. Families with children can head to the Kids Corner set up in Piazza Terme (on the Kurpromenade in front of the Kurhaus), where clowns, magic shows, creative workshops, face painting, and Baby Dance take place from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Shops, bars, and restaurants in the center extend their opening hours, while visitors can enjoy South Tyrolean specialties and wines in a relaxed, convivial atmosphere.
Organized by the Merano Tourist Board, the Tuesday Evenings attract residents and tourists alike every week, cementing their status as a symbol of the Merano summer. The formula combines free entertainment, the enhancement of the historic center, and the promotion of local products in one of the most elegant holiday destinations in the Alps.
The 2026 Tuesday Evenings in Merano are held every Tuesday from July 14 to August 25 (seven events). The historic center comes alive from 6:30 PM, when the craft market opens along Corso Libertà, continuing until late in the evening with live music and dancing.
The big news for the 2026 edition is the Kurhaus Wine Night: on the Kurhaus terrace, three selected wineries offer wine tastings paired with grilled specialties. All classic events are confirmed, with free admission.
