The course, repeated over several laps, alternates flat sections with the gentle hill climbs typical of the village, providing a lively pace and a picturesque backdrop among the historic buildings and narrow alleys. Alongside the competitive event, there is a non-competitive run open to everyone and youth races reserved for younger categories.
A memorial dedicated to Gabriele Falone
The event is organized by the ASD Gruppo Podistico Angolano and is dedicated to the memory of Gabriele Falone, the association's founder and a historic figure in local running. The Trofeo dell'Angelo is included in the regional CorriAbruzzo circuit calendar, which brings together the main road races in the region and attracts amateur and master runners from all over Abruzzo and neighboring regions.

The 2026 edition, the fourteenth, of the Trofeo dell'Angelo was held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Città Sant'Angelo (Pescara). The evening race confirmed its established format: a competitive 9 km race on an urban circuit closed to traffic along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, a non-competitive run, and youth races.
