Two days of masked festivities in the heart of the Cuneo countryside
The Trinità Carnival is one of the most cherished traditions in the winter calendar of this small town in the Province of Cuneo, in the heart of the Piedmontese plains. For two days, the entire village transforms into a large open-air party: streets and squares fill with masks, confetti, and families in costume, creating a joyful atmosphere that involves both young and old.
Unlike large carnivals featuring allegorical float parades, the Trinità event retains the intimate and popular character of a true village festival. The heart of the event is Piazza Umberto I, where residents, children, and families gather to share an afternoon of entertainment and tradition. The celebration also reaches the local nursing home, a sign of a community that seeks to include everyone in its moments of joy.
The program focuses primarily on children, with entertainment, games, and workshops tailored to them. There is no shortage of typical Piedmontese carnival flavors: the essential bugie (traditional sweet fritters), bread and salami, Nutella, and drinks offered to participants. In recent editions, entertainment has been provided by performer Stefano Vigliani, known as "Zimba," who led the grand children's party hosted in the municipal gym.
The event is organized by the Municipality of Trinità with the invaluable contribution of local volunteers and the support of regional sponsors, including the Cassa di Risparmio di Fossano. It is this network of participation that makes an accessible and free festival for the entire citizenry possible, year after year.
The Trinità Carnival is ideal for those seeking a simple and sincere celebration, capable of restoring the truest value of Carnival: being together, smiling, and celebrating as a community in the heart of Piedmont.
The 2026 edition of the Trinità Carnival was held on Sunday, February 15, and Monday, February 16, with great public success. On Sunday, the festival enlivened Piazza Umberto I and the nursing home, featuring a cheerful colorful cart for children and the offering of bread, salami, bugie, and drinks.
On Monday, February 16, the children's party moved to the municipal gym, with entertainment by Stefano Vigliani "Zimba" and sweets for everyone, including Nutella, bread, salami, and bugie. The event, organized by the Municipality of Trinità with the support of volunteers and local sponsors, involved numerous families and masked children.
