The intergenerational festival of the Nicola and Beppe Milano Civic Library
Every year, the Nicola and Beppe Milano Civic Library in Farigliano opens its doors with an initiative that celebrates reading, community, and the bond between generations. Open Doors — Early Summer Library Festival is an afternoon of festivities that draws readers of all ages to the heart of the town of Farigliano, in the Langhe area of the Cuneo province, from families with children to the library's most loyal senior patrons.
The initiative was created to highlight the library's role as a community hub and to showcase the quality of services it offers its users. It is the perfect occasion to discover new literary arrivals on the shelves, browse the latest publications, and appreciate a cultural heritage that belongs to the entire town.
Now in its fifth edition, the festival has become a highly anticipated event for the Farigliano community. In its spring editions, it was known as Spring of Beauty; today, it celebrates the arrival of summer with the same spirit of sharing. The event is promoted by the Civic Library in collaboration with the Farigliano Skittles Association and takes place on the library premises in Piazza San Giovanni, in the Langhe region of Piedmont. Admission is free and open to all.
The fifth edition of the early summer festival at the Nicola and Beppe Milano Civic Library takes place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, starting at 3:30 PM, within the library premises in Farigliano.
The program includes the awarding of the most frequent readers, the presentation of a welcome book to children born in 2025, traditional skittles games hosted by the Farigliano Skittles Association with challenges open to women of all ages, a market for used and new books, and a convivial snack to conclude the afternoon. The event is an opportunity for readers of different generations to meet and discover the library's latest services and collections. Free admission.
