About Cinema in Salmour

In Salmour, a small town in the Cuneo plains, the big screen lights up once again thanks to the Cinema in Salmour film series. Promoted by the Municipality in partnership with I Portici CinemaTeatro of Fossano and the Cinedehors Cultural Association, the program brings cinema to the heart of the village: indoors during winter in the cozy Sala Vaira, and outdoors under the stars in the greenery of Parco Crova during summer. An event designed for families, children, and enthusiasts of all ages, with screenings featuring a convivial atmosphere and recommended reservations.

Cinema returns to Salmour

Following the success of last season, cinema returns by popular demand to Salmour, a town in the Province of Cuneo, in the heart of the Piedmontese plains between Fossano and Trinitร . The Cinema in Salmour series is organized by the Municipality in collaboration with I Portici CinemaTeatro of Fossano and the Cinedehors Cultural Association, an organization that has been bringing the big screen to small towns in the Cuneo area for years.

Two souls: the hall in winter, the park in summer

The program features two distinct phases that accompany the public throughout the year. During the cold months, screenings are held in Sala Vaira, the municipal space dedicated to cultural events, while with the arrival of the warmer season, the cinema moves outdoors to Parco Crova, where the screen lights up under the stars for the Cinema in the Park evenings.

An event for families and children

The common thread of the series is its family-friendly and intergenerational nature: the chosen titles are designed to be enjoyed together by children and adults alike, in a festive atmosphere that turns cinema into an opportunity for the whole community to meet. Winter screenings in Sala Vaira often include double showings at different times to allow more spectators to attend; the summer events at Parco Crova, on the other hand, capture the spirit of classic village open-air cinema nights.

Limited seating and reservations

As these are intimate venues, especially for events in Sala Vaira, reservations are highly recommended. Bookings can be made by contacting the Salmour municipal offices directly. It is this attention to the audience's experience, rather than the scale of the numbers, that makes Cinema in Salmour a small jewel of local cultural programming in Piedmont.

Salmour and its surroundings

Salmour is an agricultural village nestled in the Cuneo countryside, just a few kilometers from Fossano and the enchanting landscapes of the Langhe and Roero. Initiatives like this film series testify to the cultural vitality of small Piedmontese towns, capable of offering their residents and visitors quality entertainment even far from the big cities.

Cinema in Salmour โ€” edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Cinema in Salmour opens on February 21st in Sala Vaira with the animated film FLOW and continues on June 20th with the open-air evening Cinema in the Park at Parco Crova. Two events designed for families and children, with limited seating and recommended reservations through the Municipality.

The 2026 season of the Cinema in Salmour series confirms the format that alternates between indoor and outdoor settings, with a calendar dedicated primarily to families.

The winter inauguration and the summer event mark a comprehensive and high-quality offering, organized by the Municipality of Salmour with I Portici CinemaTeatro and the Cinedehors Cultural Association. Given the limited capacity of the venues, booking by calling the Municipality is recommended.
