The new wine festival in the ancient village of Tricase
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Tricase VINtage is the food and wine event that celebrates new wine and the winemaking culture of Salento every autumn in the historic center of Tricase, a key town in the province of Lecce, in the heart of the Capo di Leuca. Created to promote the ancient Salento tradition of St. Martinโwhen, according to popular saying, "on St. Martin's Day, every must becomes wine"โthe festival attracts thousands of visitors each year to the alleys, squares, and historic palaces of this Apulian town.
The common thread of the event is the recovery of the memory of the ancient 'puteche', the historic village shops and cellars that were once the ultimate gathering places, where a glass of wine acted as a social glue. Cultural and gastronomic offerings revolve around this theme, animating the entire old town with re-enactments, video projections, and installations dedicated to the local identity.
The beating heart of the event is the large tasting area set up in Piazza Pisanelli, the true 'living room' of Salento, where dozens of Apulian wineries showcase their wines under the coordination of sommeliers from the AIS (Italian Sommelier Association), Lecce delegation. Alongside the glasses, stands promote local DOP and IGP products, offering a taste journey that tells the story of Puglia's gastronomic richness.
Tricase VINtage is more than just wine: the evening comes alive with live concerts, traveling theatrical performances, readings, photo exhibitions, and street artists. Between Palazzo Gallone, Largo Sant'Angelo, Piazza Don Tonino Bello, and the alleys of the center, the public can wander from one attraction to another, immersed in a festive and convivial atmosphere. Families with children will find a dedicated space in the grape-stomping workshop, which kicks off the festival in the afternoon.
Organized by the Pro Loco Tricase in collaboration with the City of Tricase and supported by the Puglia Region, the event offers free admission and runs throughout the evening. Tricase VINtage is the perfect opportunity to discover the ancient Salento village, taste local wines, and experience one of the most cherished autumn traditions of the Capo di Leuca.
The next edition of Tricase VINtage is scheduled for autumn in the old town of Tricase (Lecce, Puglia), traditionally linked to the celebrations of St. Martin and new wine. At the moment, the organizers, Pro Loco Tricase and the City of Tricase, have not yet announced the official dates or the program for the 2026 edition. This page will be updated as soon as details regarding participating wineries, shows, and activities are published.
