About Tredozio Trail
A trail in the heart of the Romagnol Apennines
The Tredozio Trail is a trail running and walking event that takes place in Tredozio, a small village in the upper Tramazzo valley in the province of Forlì-Cesena, in the Emilia-Romagna Apennines on the border with Tuscany. The race leads participants along the paths surrounding the village, through technical climbs, wooded sections, and panoramic ridges overlooking the Tuscan-Romagnol hills.
Three routes for every level
The format includes three loops starting and finishing at Largo G. Ghetti, in the center of Tredozio, designed to welcome both the most experienced athletes and those who want to experience the mountains at a more relaxed pace:
- Long (approx. 30 km, 1,200-1,400 m elevation gain) — the longest and most challenging loop, dedicated to trained trail runners.
- Short (approx. 18 km, 700-780 m elevation gain) — the intermediate route, perfect for getting started in mountain races.
- Walk (approx. 8 km, 300 m elevation gain) — the non-competitive walk, open to families and hiking enthusiasts.
A project for the territory
The Tredozio Trail was born from the idea of the association Gin&Pro ASD (founded in Faenza in 2023) in collaboration with CAI Faenza, with the aim of enhancing the natural environment around Tredozio and rediscovering the beauty of its paths. After the success of the first edition, the routes were equipped with permanent dedicated signage, so they can be run all year round and promoted as official trail itineraries.
Romagnol tradition and hospitality
In addition to the competition, the event is an opportunity to discover Tredozio and its hospitality: the refreshment points along the route and at the finish line showcase the flavors of the territory, with the support of local businesses in the village. Tredozio is, after all, a town tied to its traditions – famous for the historic Egg Festival on Easter Monday – and the trail adds a sporting event to the calendar that combines a passion for running with a love for the Apennine mountains.

Tredozio Trail 2026 — second edition
The 2026 edition of the Tredozio Trail was held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, with start and finish from Largo G. Ghetti in the center of Tredozio. The event confirmed the three-route format on the trails of the Forlì-Cesena Apennines, featuring technical climbs, woods, and panoramic ridges.
The three routes
- Long — approximately 30 km with 1,200 m elevation gain.
- Short — approximately 18 km with 700 m elevation gain.
- Walk — approximately 8 km with 300 m elevation gain, non-competitive walk.
Organization is handled by Gin&Pro ASD in collaboration with CAI Faenza, with registrations managed through the IDchronosLive platform.

Practical information — Tredozio Trail
How to get there
Tredozio can be reached by car from the Via Emilia via Faenza or Modigliana; the start is at Largo G. Ghetti, in the center of the village. The nearest train station is Faenza, on the Bologna-Rimini line, from where you can continue by car towards the Apennines.
Registration and fees
Registration is online via the IDchronosLive platform. Indicative fees from the last edition: around €35 for the Long route, €30 for the Short, and €15 for the Walk (plus commissions). It is advisable to register in advance as registrations close a few days before the race.
Tips
Wear trail running shoes and mountain-appropriate clothing; check the regulations and any mandatory equipment on the official website before the start.
