The FAI plant and flower fair at Castello di Masino, in its autumn version
Tre Giorni per il Giardino is one of Italy's most prestigious and highly anticipated events dedicated to horticulture. It takes place in the Parco del Castello di Masino, a magnificent historic estate owned by FAI (the National Trust for Italy) in the municipality of Caravino, in the province of Turin, in the heart of the Piedmontese Canavese. The autumn edition extends the magic of the historic spring version into the golden months of the year, offering visitors a fresh opportunity to immerse themselves in color, fragrance, and biodiversity.
The heart of the event is the grand plant and flower market: over a hundred nurserymen from Italy and across the Alps display their collections of plants for gardens, vegetable patches, orchards, and terraces. You will find rare and curious species, ancient varieties, unusual blooms, and selections hard to find in standard garden centers. It is the perfect occasion for enthusiasts and curious visitors alike to seek advice directly from the producers, engaging in a direct dialogue with those who cultivate with passion and expertise.
Beyond the commercial aspect, Tre Giorni per il Giardino offers a rich cultural program: meetings and conversations with agronomists, botanists, landscape architects, and writers, practical gardening demonstrations, the "The Gardener Answers" help desk, and moments of reflection on the relationship between humans, nature, and the environment. There is no shortage of activities for families, with workshops for children, games, and shows designed for the little ones, because a passion for greenery is best passed on from an early age.
What makes the event special is the context: the Castello di Masino, with its monumental park and views sweeping over the Ivrea morainic amphitheater, is one of the most beloved FAI properties in Piedmont. Walking among the stands set up in the park in autumn means enjoying the dual beauty of the displayed plants and the foliage of the historic garden. An unmissable appointment for those who love gardening, nature, and Italy's cultural heritage.
