The autumn celebration of the iconic Piedmontese dish in the heart of Volpiano
In Volpiano, a town in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont, the Bagna Cauda Festival is much more than just a dinner; it is an autumn ritual that has brought the Borgo Rumero district to life for nearly three decades. Every October, the Borgo Rumero Association sets up its heated, covered pavilions at the corner of Via Genova and Via Milano, transforming them into a grand dining hall. The undisputed star is the bagna cauda, a warm dip made of garlic, anchovies, and oil, perfect for pairing with seasonal vegetables.
The menu is a journey through traditional Piedmontese cuisine. In addition to bagna cauda served with vegetables, guests can enjoy dishes such as Vercelli-style panissa, pork rinds with beans, tomini cheese with anchovies, cured meats, polenta with sausage and ragรน, agnolotti, and a rich selection of appetizers, desserts, and drinks. A bar and takeaway service are available throughout the festival, much appreciated by those who want to bring the flavors of the event home.
The Borgo Rumero Bagna Cauda Festival is not just about food: every evening, tables are cleared to make room for dancing. Live orchestras, DJs, and dance schools take turns on stage, giving the event the classic village festival atmosphere that has made it so successful. Sunday adds a more communal touch, with morning Mass followed by a convivial lunch at midday.
Now in its thirtieth year, the Bagna Cauda Festival has become a symbol of autumn in Volpiano and a highlight of the gastronomic calendar north of Turin. Driven by the volunteer efforts of the local cooks, the event combines a passion for fine dining with a strong sense of community spirit.
From October 16 to 19, 2026, the Borgo Rumero Association brings back its traditional Bagna Cauda Festival to Volpiano for its 27th edition. The heated, covered pavilions at the corner of Via Genova and Via Milano are confirmed, following the usual formula that combines great Piedmontese cuisine with music and dance evenings.
As every year, the star will be the bagna cauda served with vegetables, accompanied by other traditional dishes and evening entertainment.
The detailed program for the 27th edition, including the menu for each evening and musical entertainment (orchestras and DJ sets), will be announced by the Borgo Rumero Association in the weeks leading up to the event.
Based on past editions, the usual structure includes:
