About Trapani Comix

Trapani Comix & Games is Sicily's premier festival dedicated to comics, gaming, and the entire pop culture universe. Every year, amidst the lush gardens and pathways of Villa Margherita, the city of Trapani transforms into a hub for nerd culture: three days of exhibitions, author meet-and-greets, video game tournaments, cosplay gatherings, concerts, and live performances. Established in 2018, the event has grown into one of the most anticipated gatherings in Southern Italy, attracting national and international guests along with thousands of visitors of all ages.

Trapani becomes the capital of pop culture

Every spring, Trapani Comix & Games turns the capital of Western Sicily into a vibrant hub dedicated to comics, video games, cosplay, and the entire pop culture imagination. The event, organized by the Nerd Attack ETS association in collaboration with the Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese and the Municipality of Trapani, takes place in the historic setting of Villa Margherita, the city's iconic urban park, and extends into some of the most charming spots in the historic center.

A festival that grows year after year

Launched in 2018, the festival has quickly become one of the most important industry events in Southern Italy. Each year, the program brings together over a hundred events, including author meet-and-greets, exhibitions, tournaments, concerts, live shows, and cosplay gatherings, designed for a wide audience: from young manga and video game fans to families with children, and from comic book readers to hardcore gamers.

Thematic areas and activities

The festival features numerous dedicated areas spread across Villa Margherita and other city landmarks such as the San Domenico Complex, Palazzo Cavarretta, the San Rocco Museum, and the Teatro Giuseppe Di Stefano. Recurring highlights include:

  • Artist Alley featuring illustrators and designers;
  • Video Games Area with augmented and virtual reality, retrogaming, and an E-Sport Arena;
  • Hanami Zone dedicated to Japanese culture;
  • Games & RPG Area with role-playing and board game sessions;
  • Twitch Zone featuring streamers, YouTubers, and creators;
  • a medieval area, exhibitions, cosplay contests, and concerts.

Notable guests

Over the years, Trapani Comix & Games has hosted prestigious names from the world of comics and pop culture, including Italian and international authors, voice actors, web creators, and artists from the animation music scene.

A celebration for the whole city

More than just a fair, Trapani Comix & Games is an event that engages the entire community of the Municipality and Province of Trapani, Sicily, bringing parks, theaters, and historic palaces to life for an entire weekend. The combination of a Mediterranean setting, a rich program, and a festive atmosphere makes it a landmark event for enthusiasts from across the island and beyond.
