The future of wine, Ho.Re.Ca. and hospitality in Western Sicily
Insolito Marsala is a food, wine and cultural festival held in Marsala, in the province of Trapani, Sicily. Launched in 2024, the event weaves together wine tourism, food & wine, art, technology and hospitality in an original format that distinguishes itself from both traditional trade fairs and local village festivals. The organizers' chosen claim perfectly captures this spirit: «Not a fair. Not a village festival. A point of view.»
The heart of the event beats within the iconic landmarks of the historic center: the San Pietro Monumental Complex, which hosts meetings and training sessions, and Palazzo Fici, a historic residence that serves as the venue for grand tastings. These are complemented by partner wineries, restaurants, wine bars and local venues throughout the city, creating a widespread experience that brings the entire town to life over several days.
Insolito Marsala dedicates its mornings to professional training for those working in the wine, bar, restaurant and hospitality sectors. Through the Insolito Academy and GAIN Academy, international speakers gather to discuss topics such as artificial intelligence, digital transformation, hospitality tech, marketing and wine storytelling. Afternoons and evenings are dedicated to tastings, signature dinners, mixology and urban art.
The stated goal is to offer a contemporary narrative of Western Sicily, bridging the great tradition of Marsala wine with the innovation, culture and hospitality of the future. The second edition in 2025 attracted over 800 participants and more than 40 guests, including chefs, bartenders, speakers and international consultants, confirming Marsala as the capital of a new Sicilian model of hospitality.
The dates for the 2026 edition have already been announced (September 30 to October 4, 2026), while the detailed program will be published in the months leading up to the event.
