Transumare Fest

The festival that puts music in motion

Transumare Fest is one of the most compelling independent music festivals on the Adriatic, held every summer in Roseto degli Abruzzi, in the province of Teramo. Its most iconic image is a seaside parking lot along the Lungomare Trento, transformed for a few nights into a grand amphitheater facing the Adriatic Sea. The name evokes the 'transhumance'—the ancient seasonal migration of flocks along the Apennine sheep tracks—inspiring the concept of music in motion, which seeks, as the organizers say, the 'mobile roots of things'.

A project born from the territory

The festival is conceived and produced by APS Rosangeles, a local social promotion association, in co-design with the Municipality of Roseto degli Abruzzi. The first edition in 2024 exceeded 9,000 attendees, immediately establishing itself as an event capable of attracting audiences from across the region and beyond. Transumare goes beyond concerts: it is designed as a cultural event that invites visitors to discover the Abruzzo landscape and brings together people, sounds, and visions.

A genre-defying line-up

The musical programming flows effortlessly between Italian indie, electronica, rap, world music, jazz, and funk, with a focus on both emerging talent and established names. Over the years, the stage has hosted singer-songwriters, international electronic producers, and experimental projects, giving the festival an eclectic and carefully curated identity.

What sets Transumare Fest apart is the Vivi Transumare experiential program, which takes the audience beyond the stage to discover Abruzzo from every angle:

• trekking in the Apennines, towards Campo Imperatore and the Rocca di Calascio;
• sunrise beach yoga;
• walks through vineyards and tastings at local wineries and olive oil mills;
• artistic workshops and guided listening sessions of sampled music.

Accessibility and sustainability

The festival has made inclusion a core identity through the Sintonie project, dedicated to cultural accessibility: accessible routes, personal assistants, and attention to audiences with diverse needs. There is also a strong environmental commitment, with a plastic-free policy and a shuttle and car-sharing system to reduce the impact on the area. It is this mix of cutting-edge music, deep roots in the Abruzzo landscape, and social vision that makes Transumare Fest a unique case in the Italian summer festival scene.
