Ancient roots, future thinking: three days of ideas, music, and theatre in Teramo
Humus Festival is a multidisciplinary cultural event held in the historic center of Teramo, the capital of the province of the same name in Abruzzo. Launched in 2025 by the Hypsis Association, in close collaboration with the Gaetano Braga Conservatory and numerous institutional and associative partners, the festival offers three days of free admission featuring conferences, concerts, theatrical performances, and art installations.
The title chosen for the festival, Ancient roots, future thinking, encapsulates the spirit of the event: bringing memory and tradition into dialogue with the challenges of the present. The days address themes such as environmental sustainability, the impact of technology, the value of community, and the relationship between generations. The city thus becomes a true laboratory of ideas, where scholars, artists, young people, and curious citizens meet to reflect together.
The program alternates between moments of listening and discussion with significant artistic offerings. Alongside meetings with analysts, anthropologists, and philosophers, there are concerts by the Braga Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, theatrical performances, and musical acts aimed at a wide audience. There are also events designed for younger people and community gatherings that close each edition in a festive atmosphere.
Humus Festival takes place in the most evocative spots of Teramo, highlighting the city's urban heritage:
All Humus Festival events are free to attend: a deliberate choice to make culture accessible and build a community of people who share the experience of thought and art. For those visiting Abruzzo in late September, the festival is a precious opportunity to discover Teramo and its vibrant cultural scene.
