Trail running through the paths of Oasi Zegna, in the Biellese Alps
The Trail Oasi Zegna is one of the most beloved events for mountain running enthusiasts in northwest Italy. Organized by ASD TrailrunningValsessera, the event takes place in the territory of Valdilana, in the Province of Biella, traversing the paths of Oasi Zegna—a natural area established by the Zegna family that stretches across the Biellese mountains, featuring forests, grassy basins, and blooming rhododendrons.
The strength of the Trail Oasi Zegna lies in the ability to choose the challenge that best suits you. Each edition offers three distances, with start and finish lines at the Centro Zegna in Trivero:
The Trail Oasi Zegna is more than just a local race: its courses are part of the ITRA (International Trail Running Association) circuits and contribute to the UTMB Index, the scoring system that opens doors to the world's biggest trail competitions. This is why the event attracts athletes from numerous Italian regions and various European and non-European countries.
Beyond the competitive aspect, the Trail Oasi Zegna is an opportunity to discover one of the most beautiful corners of Piedmont. The trails wind through the mountain hamlets of Trivero, the slopes of Monte Rubello, and offer views that, on clear days, stretch as far as the Po Valley and the Alpine arc. The event is complemented by an expo area, bib collection, and social gatherings that make this June Sunday a true celebration for the Valdilana community and the entire Biellese trail running movement.
The 15th edition of the Trail Oasi Zegna is scheduled for Sunday, June 21, 2026, on the trails of Oasi Zegna, in Valdilana, Province of Biella. The event, organized by ASD TrailrunningValsessera, confirms its three historic courses with start and finish at the Centro Zegna in Trivero.
The edition promises a high turnout: even before the race, registrations had already exceeded 400, with athletes arriving from seven Italian regions (Piedmont, Abruzzo, Emilia-Romagna, Liguria, Lombardy, Aosta Valley, and Veneto) and six different nations. The courses are ITRA-certified and contribute to the UTMB Index.
All courses start and finish at the Centro Zegna in Trivero. Times are provisional and may be updated by the organization on the official website.
The 65 km Ultra, 35 km Trail, and 15 km Oasi courses are part of the ITRA circuits and contribute to the UTMB Index. The 15th edition confirms the event's success with over 400 participants from 7 Italian regions and 6 nations.
The start and finish are at the Centro Zegna, at Via Guglielmo Marconi 41, in the hamlet of Trivero in Valdilana (BI). By car, it can be reached from the A4 motorway (Carisio exit) or the A26, continuing towards Biella and then following signs for the Panoramica Zegna.
Registration is done online via the WedoSport platform. A competitive medical certificate and membership with FIDAL or a sports promotion body recognized by CONI are required (except for the non-competitive 15 km category).
Bring trail shoes, clothing suitable for the altitude, and the mandatory gear required by the regulations. It is recommended to check the official website for updates on schedules and mandatory equipment.
