The grand street festival celebrating local commerce in the historic center of Ponsacco
The Trade Festival is one of the most anticipated summer events in Ponsacco, a lively town in the Valdera area of the Pisa province, in Tuscany. Created to showcase the town's commercial spirit, the event turns the entire historic center into a massive party for one night, where shops, boutiques, and businesses open their doors to the public with music, entertainment, and activities designed for families, young people, and visitors. The organizers' stated goal is to unite the local business community and attract guests from beyond the province.
Every edition revolves around a central theme. For 2026, the choice fell on "Summer New Year's Eve": a sparkling, summer-inspired reinterpretation of New Year's Eve, complete with elegant and glittery attire, themed scenery, and a spectacular grand finale. Different areas of the center are decorated with installations and lights, while the festivities unfold from late afternoon until late at night.
The program is spread across the main squares and streets of the historic center. Starting at 5:00 PM, DJ sets kick off: on Via Vanni, hosted by Giropizza and Glenda Concept Store, and in Piazza D'Appiano and Piazza della Repubblica with dance music. The street food area is located in the same zone, designed as a roving dinner among the stalls.
The Trade Festival is organized by Confcommercio Pisa and the Natural Shopping Center of Ponsacco, with the contribution and patronage of the Municipality of Ponsacco and the participation of the Chamber of Commerce of Northwest Tuscany – Terre di Pisa. Over the years, the event has been enriched with ever-changing themes—from the fantasy world to great classics—becoming a defining event for the Ponsacco community and the entire Valdera region. The artistic and technical direction is entrusted to local professionals alongside partners such as OrSound and Laface Events.
For 2026, the Ponsacco Trade Festival chose the "Summer New Year's Eve" theme. Starting at 5:00 PM, DJ sets began on Via Vanni, Piazza D'Appiano, and Piazza della Repubblica, accompanied by the street food area for a roving dinner. On Via Roma, the craft market was held; on Corso Matteotti, the local business Expo area featured a themed escape room; while Piazza San Giovanni hosted an aperitif and rock dinner from 7:00 PM with a cover band and a grand New Year's-themed evening finale.
Ponsacco is located in the Valdera area, in the province of Pisa. By car, it can be reached via the Firenze-Pisa-Livorno (FI-PI-LI) highway, taking the Pontedera exit and continuing towards Ponsacco. The nearest train station is Pontedera-Casciana Terme, on the Florence-Pisa line, from where you can continue by bus or taxi.
The festival takes place in the historic center from late afternoon (starting at 5:00 PM) until after midnight. Admission to the streets and squares is free; food and drinks can be purchased at the various stands.
During the evening, the historic center is closed to traffic: we recommend parking in the outer areas and walking to the squares. Themed attire (elegant and sparkling) is encouraged in keeping with the "Summer New Year's Eve" theme.
