Three days of culture, flavors, and traditions of the Roero region in Ceresole d'Alba
The Terre Rosse Fair is the most cherished event in Ceresole d'Alba, a town in the province of Cuneo nestled in the heart of the Roero, in Piedmont. The name refers to the distinctive color of the soil in these hills, the famous "red lands" rich in iron and sand that produce high-quality wines, fruit, and local specialties. The fair was created to celebrate this very identity: three days dedicated to the culture, traditions, agricultural heritage, and food and wine excellence of the region.
For an entire weekend, the historic center of Ceresole d'Alba transforms into a large open-air stage. The Piazza Caccia pavilion hosts street food evenings and popular dinners organized by the Pro Loco, while squares, streets, and the charming Castle courtyard host concerts, shows, exhibitions, and cultural insights. The fair blends entertainment with rural roots: bocce tournaments, bicycle trials, showcooking, puppet shows, games for children, and trails to discover the landscape of the red lands.
The heart of the event is the connection to the land. Sunday is dedicated to the producers' market, agricultural machinery displays, agricultural modeling, and educational farm activities, with conferences focused on the Piedmontese cattle supply chain and sustainable quality. The grand popular table of the Osteria delle Terre Rosse is a must, offering traditional Roero dishes paired with local wines.
During the fair, the MuBATT opens for special visitsโthe museum that recounts the Battle of Ceresole on April 14, 1544, when the French troops of Francis I and the imperial forces of Charles V clashed in one of the largest conflicts fought in this territory. The museum, born from a twinning with Saint-Paul-de-Vence, adds a historical dimension to the festival that enriches the visitor experience.
With its free admission and convivial atmosphere, the Terre Rosse Fair is the ideal opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Roero, far from the most crowded tourist circuits but rich in flavors, traditions, and hospitality. An event designed for families, curious travelers, and food and wine enthusiasts who want to experience the most genuine side of Piedmont.
The 8th edition of the Terre Rosse Fair takes place in Ceresole d'Alba from June 12 to 14, 2026, confirming its status as one of the most anticipated events in the Roero. Three days of cultural events, shows, music, family activities, exhibitions, and moments dedicated to the typical local gastronomy. Admission is free and events are spread throughout the historic center, from the Piazza Caccia pavilion to the Castle courtyard.
Ceresole d'Alba is located in the province of Cuneo, in the Roero region, a short distance from Alba, Bra, and Carmagnola. By car, it can be reached from the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (Carmagnola or Marene exit) or via the Roero provincial roads. The most convenient train station is Bra, from which you can continue by car or local transport.
Admission to the fair is free. The event takes place over three days, from Friday evening to Sunday, with events spread throughout the historic center. The official inauguration is scheduled for Sunday at 11:30 AM in the Castle courtyard.
