The Notturni nelle Rocche are among the most beloved summer events in the Roero region: a series of night-time walks that traverse the UNESCO-listed hills every year, winding through gullies, vineyards, and the steep slopes that give the famous rocche their name. The Corneliano d'Alba stage, in the province of Cuneo, is a highlight of the programme, organized in collaboration with the local Pro Loco.

A theatrical walk under the stars

The route stretches for about five kilometres along the trails surrounding the village. Along the way, hikers encounter scenes performed by actors from the Compagnia Macramé, turning the walk into an immersive story told in stages, set against the darkness and sounds of the night. The meeting point is the Palazzetto dello Sport on Via dei Giardini, with departure just after sunset and a total duration of about two and a half hours.

The 2026 edition theme

The 17th edition of the festival, which spans twenty Roero municipalities from June to September, is dedicated to the theme "Mysteries, thrillers, and cases to solve": the theatrical performances feature spooky stories, noir tales, and enigmas to unravel, interspersed with historical, botanical, wildlife, and literary insights provided along the routes.

An experience for the whole family

The walks are designed for adults, families, and nature lovers. At the end of the hike, a final snack with herbal teas, fruit, and biscuits awaits, offering a convivial moment to wrap up the evening. The initiative celebrates the bond between the Roero territory and its communities, blending hiking, street theatre, and local traditions.

Practical tips

• Hiking shoes are mandatory, and a torch is recommended.
• Dogs are allowed on a leash.
• In case of bad weather, the walks will be cancelled.
• The activity is recommended for ages 8 and up.
