A festival of sport, music, and values
The Terrazza d'Abruzzo Fest is one of the most vibrant summer events in Guardiagrele, a village in the province of Chieti known as the "Terrace of Abruzzo" for its panoramic position at the foot of the Majella mountains. Organized by the APS Sport e Valori association under the artistic direction of maestro Davide Cavuti, the festival transforms the squares and alleys of the historic center for three days into a widespread stage where sport, music, health, wellness, and culture converge.
The heart of the event
The festival revolves around several now-traditional highlights: the Gran Galà Stelle di Maja, an awards evening for the National Terrazza d'Abruzzo Prize recognizing figures from the worlds of music, sport, and culture; the Notte Azzurra dello Sport (Blue Night of Sport), dedicated to local sports disciplines and athletes in collaboration with CONI; and a rich musical program with concerts and live performances in the evocative Piazza Nicola da Guardiagrele.
The National Literary Competition
The pride of the event is the National Literary Competition, aimed at schools of all levels across Italy, which invites students to share sport as a life experience through stories, comics, and drawings. The best works are published in anthologies and awarded during the festival evenings, reflecting the deep bond between sport, education, and culture that drives the entire event.
Guardiagrele and the Majella
The setting of Guardiagrele, one of Italy's most beautiful villages and the home of Abruzzese goldsmithing, adds charm to the event: exhibitions, meetings, and concerts take place among cloisters, historic palaces, and squares overlooking the Majella landscape, making the Terrazza d'Abruzzo Fest a perfect opportunity to experience the historic center and discover the traditions of the Abruzzo region.

5th edition — July 24-26, 2026
The Terrazza d'Abruzzo Fest returns to Guardiagrele for its fifth edition from July 24 to 26, 2026, under the artistic direction of maestro Davide Cavuti and organized by APS Sport e Valori, led by Giampiero Davide and Luigi Milozzi. Once again, the event will feature its multidisciplinary formula blending sport, music, wellness, and culture in the city's historic center.
The 5th edition of the National Literary Competition is already confirmed, reserved for schools of all levels in Italy, with three thematic categories dedicated to sport: "A rainbow of colors chasing a goal" (drawing, primary school), "Moments of sport told through comics" (comics, middle school), and "Moments of sport, moments of life" (storytelling, high school).

Location

Guardiagrele can be reached by car from the Val di Sangro exit on the A14 motorway or via the Chieti-Guardiagrele highway. The town is approximately 25 km from Chieti and 45 km from Pescara.
