The Terlaner Kinonächte, or "Terlano Cinema Nights," is the summer open-air film festival that brings life to the municipality of Terlano (Terlan), located along the Wine Road in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of South Tyrol. On August evenings, the space in front of the OTTO Mediateca turns into a small open-air cinema, where the public gathers to enjoy films under the summer sky of the Dolomites.

A free and convivial festival

The event is organized by the Bildungsausschuss Terlan (the local adult education committee) together with the OTTO municipal library. Admission is free, in line with the initiative's cultural and community-focused spirit: the Kinonächte is not a commercial festival, but a meeting point for the residents of Terlano, Vilpiano, and Settequerce, as well as visitors traveling along the Wine Road.

How the evenings work

• Evening screenings usually start around 8:45 PM, once darkness falls.
• Open-air venue in front of the OTTO Mediateca; in case of bad weather, screenings are moved inside the library.
• A curated program alternating between auteur films, award-winning movies, and titles that appeal to a wide, family-friendly audience.
