The Summer Festival of the Marling Fire Brigade

The Sommerfest der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Marling is the annual summer festival organized by the Volunteer Fire Brigade of Marling, a charming wine-growing town nestled on the sunny slopes south of Merano, in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of South Tyrol. The event takes place at the Festplatz, the village's festival grounds, and is one of the most cherished moments of the local summer.

An evening of conviviality

The summer festival is much more than just a party: it is an occasion for the entire Marling community to gather for a carefree evening under the summer sky of the Burgraviato. The volunteer firefighters, a pillar of local social life, open the doors of the Festplatz to residents, families, and tourists vacationing in the Merano area, offering a warm and genuine welcome.

Gastronomy and specialties

The heart of the festival is great outdoor dining. The food stands offer:

• a selection of tasty grilled specialties, from savory meats to traditional South Tyrolean sausages;
• vegetarian dishes designed to satisfy all tastes;
• fresh beer, local wines, and drinks, in perfect South Tyrolean style.

The village cuisine, prepared by the volunteers, guarantees authentic flavors in a festive and casual atmosphere.

Live music

The evening is accompanied by live music: the popular group Die Grubertaler, a well-loved band on the South Tyrolean music scene, livens up the Festplatz with entertainment tracks and traditional sounds, inviting the audience to dance and celebrate until late in the evening.

A community event

The summer festival is organized by the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Marling, the volunteer fire brigade serving Marling. Like many popular festivals in South Tyrol (the so-called Sommerfeste and Kirchtage), the event has a strong charitable purpose: participation directly supports the volunteer work of the firefighters, who are always on the front line for the safety of the territory. Admission is free and no reservation is required.
