The parade of eco-friendly, creative floats arrives in None
The Strambicoli Carnival is a widespread festive event involving four municipalities in the southern suburbs of Turin โ Vinovo, Volvera, None, and Airasca โ with a travelling format that brings the parade from town to town on weekends throughout February. In None, a small town in the Metropolitan City of Turin in Piedmont, the event brings the historic center to life with a colorful, popular afternoon parade.
The strambicoli are mini, human-powered allegorical floats built on a low budget using recycled materials. Strange, funny, ingenious, and spectacular, they follow a different theme each time, making the Carnival both bizarre and eco-friendly. The definition that accompanies them is pure Piedmontese: "invension ch'a giro sensa cognission", meaning inventions that spin without reason, highlighting the playful and self-deprecating spirit of the festival.
At each stop, a qualified jury evaluates the competing strambicoli and awards prizes for the most eco-friendly, imaginative, and spectacular entries, as well as for technical complexity. It is precisely this competitive dimension, combined with environmental awareness and fun, that distinguishes this event from more traditional carnivals.
The event is organized by the Pro Loco of None in partnership with the Pro Loco associations and groups of the other involved municipalities. It is an opportunity to experience Carnival in a participatory and sustainable way, especially suitable for families and children, with the parade winding through the streets and squares of the town amidst confetti, music, and joy. Admission is free.
The None stage traditionally takes place on Carnival days in February, in the afternoon. As it is a travelling event, it is always advisable to check the full calendar of stops in the area (Vinovo, Volvera, None, and Airasca) before travelling.
The 2026 edition confirms the travelling format of the event, which winds through four municipalities in the southern suburbs of Turin during the month of February. The None stage is scheduled for Sunday, February 22, 2026, with the parade starting in the afternoon at 2:30 PM.
The strambicoli, mini allegorical floats built with recycled materials, will parade through the town streets and be evaluated by a jury that awards the most eco-friendly, imaginative, and spectacular entries. Admission is free.
