The non-competitive charity walk and run through the hills of Bra
The StraBra, affectionately called SuperStraBra by the locals, is a historic non-competitive fun run and walk that draws hundreds of people every spring to the center of Bra, in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of Piedmont. It is an inclusive sports event with a strong charitable spirit: there is no ranking or stopwatch, just the joy of walking together, enjoying the landscape, and supporting local volunteer efforts.
The course winds for approximately 7.9 km through the streets of Bra's historic center and the surrounding hills, alternating between urban views and the rolling landscapes typical of the Langhe-Roero region. The meeting point, start, and finish line are located at Piazza Caduti per la Libertà, in front of the town hall. Refreshment stations are set up along the route: in San Michele with classic bagnetto verde, salami, and wine, and in San Matteo with fruit and sweets, while a pasta dish is offered to everyone at the finish line.
The heart of the event is its charitable purpose: proceeds from ticket sales are distributed proportionally among the participating sports clubs, volunteer associations, schools, and youth centers. StraBra is organized by the UISP Bra-Cuneo Territorial Committee with the support of the City of Bra and local sponsors. It is an event accessible to everyone, including families, and stands as one of the most cherished spring traditions in Bra, transforming a simple walk into a concrete gesture of solidarity for the community.
The 39th edition of the StraBra was held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Bra, maintaining the traditional format of the non-competitive charity fun run and walk, dedicated to the memory of Antonio Panero. The day combined sports, scenery, and fundraising for local schools, youth centers, and associations.
The event was broadcast live from the square by Radio Alba. A prize draw with approximately 2,000 euros in shopping vouchers was also held.
Meeting point, start, and finish at Piazza Caduti per la Libertà, in front of the Bra town hall (CN). Gathering from 8:00 AM for bib collection, with the start in the morning.
The participation fee is approximately 4 euros per ticket. Tickets can be purchased at the UISP office at Via Mercantini 9 in Bra, as well as through participating sports clubs, volunteer associations, and schools.
Bra is accessible by car via the A6 Turin-Savona motorway and is well-connected by train to Turin and Cuneo. The starting square is located in the city center, just a short walk from the train station.
