The Steak and Porcini Mushroom Festival is a staple of the spring season in Pozzolatico, a small village in the municipality of Impruneta, in the province of Florence, nestled in the rolling hills that separate the Tuscan capital from the Chianti region. Organized by the Pozzolatico Recreational Cultural Circle (CRC), the event celebrates a cornerstone of Florentine cuisine: charcoal-grilled steak, served here with a side of premium porcini mushrooms.
The heart of the festival is, naturally, the dish that gives the event its name. The steak is grilled according to tradition and served in two generous portions—half a kilo or one kilo—accompanied by delicious porcini mushrooms. The menu is rounded out by Tuscan appetizers, homemade pasta dishes, and desserts, highlighting the simplicity and quality of local ingredients.
More than a large-scale fair, the Steak and Porcini Mushroom Festival feels like a big village dinner party. Guests focus on the food, while background music sets the mood without overpowering the conversation. The event is held at the CRC in Pozzolatico, located at Via Imprunetana per Pozzolatico 227/229, in the municipality of Impruneta. The venue features a large parking area, convenient for those arriving by car from Florence and neighboring towns. The kitchen opens for dinner starting at 7:30 PM.
The CRC of Pozzolatico hosts two distinct steak and porcini events throughout the year: this spring edition in March, and a summer edition between June and July, both part of the club's rich calendar of festivals that bring the hills of Impruneta to life.
From March 12 to 14, 2026, the Pozzolatico Recreational Cultural Circle hosted the spring edition of the Steak and Porcini Mushroom Festival. Every evening, starting at 7:30 PM, the club's kitchen offered a traditional menu centered on charcoal-grilled steak in 500g and 1kg portions, served with porcini mushrooms, as well as appetizers, pasta dishes, and desserts. The event confirmed its status as one of the most appreciated culinary appointments in the Impruneta hills, with ample parking available for guests.
